Hello?
I’m Baek Won-jin, Baek Won-seon, the director who has been posting stories about aspiring to be both an implant craftsman and a gourmand.
It’s been a month since my last post. I’ve been so busy carrying out many tasks in the meantime that I’ve hardly had a moment to breathe.
That said, I’m finally planning to open a new dental clinic on May 12, 2025, in the very form of the clinic I had dreamed of.
Ah!! Due to a change-of-use issue, the opening has been delayed. We have pushed the opening date back to Monday, May 19.
In fact, you may have already seen occasional updates through the official Instagram and Threads accounts of Reve Dental Clinic, and personally, since this is my second opening, I’m preparing even more carefully and ambitiously. If you’re curious, please refer to the Instagram and Threads link addresses!!
Today’s post is about how I planned this second opening.
A dream dental clinic where all treatments are possible; Reve Dental Clinic
I want to create a utopia in the dental field.
The clinic I first opened in Geumho-dong, Seongdong-gu, was the dental clinic I had dreamed of at the time.
There were many apartment complexes around the clinic, and I spent five years running it while building friendly relationships with local residents, giving it the feel of a so-called “neighborhood dentist.”
Personally, it was a very happy time, and it remains the first clinic I’ll never forget. As a periodontics specialist, I hired and operated specialists in prosthodontics, conservative dentistry, and orthodontics to overcome the limits I felt in various areas of treatment, and I tried to provide better care.
But there were certainly limitations. There were many treatments that might seem possible at a so-called “Gangnam dental clinic,” a “large dental clinic,” or a “university hospital,” but not at my own dental practice.
As these thoughts accumulated, I finally decided, after deep consideration, to create a dental clinic that could become a utopia for the dental field.
Reve Dental Clinic
REVE Dental Clinic
French Dictionary
rêve
If you search for the word REVE on Naver, you’ll see the result above.
I’m not familiar with French grammar, but if you listen carefully, this word—heard as “röve”—means “dream” in French.
A dream dental clinic. It’s a rather abstract meaning, but I think it captures very well the intention of wanting to create the clinic I’ve dreamed of.

A 250-pyeong space across from the entrance to Garosu-gil, a 4-minute walk from Exit 1 of Sinsa Station, on Dosan-daero
The dental utopia I wanted to create is actually quite simple.
A clinic that even the medical staff can dream of; a place that can instill pride in working there.
A clinic that every patient can dream of; a place where they can feel they made the right choice coming here.
It seems I spent more than three years thinking about this before this idea was born.
At my original clinic location, there simply wasn’t enough space to build the dream dental clinic I had envisioned, so I eventually decided to start anew near Sinsa Station, a major transportation hub.
I’m confident it is the best possible space for visitors to receive treatment comfortably.
A dental clinic open 363 days a year
A Gangnam-gu, Nonhyeon-dong dental clinic that provides treatment on Sundays and public holidays
A dental clinic that offers evening hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

This photo was taken while sitting in the lobby of the building where our clinic is located.
The lobby, with its high ceiling, always feels like such a pleasant space whenever I visit. It doesn’t feel like a hospital?
One thing I wanted to improve from my first clinic was introducing Sunday treatment.
If Sunday treatment is introduced, the biggest beneficiaries are the patients who come in. Modern people are busy—medical staff like me, countless employees at large corporations, and so on. There are many people who have no choice but to come in during evening hours on weekdays.
After work, going to an evening appointment... If necessary, you’ll go, but you’re rushed, and all you really want is to go home and rest...
There actually aren’t that many clinics near Sinsa Station that are open on Sundays! It’s not very common to find a dental clinic where, on Sundays, even an orthodontic specialist comes in to work and can provide everything from cavity treatment to implant surgery and Invisalign orthodontic care.
I wanted to create a clinic that would stay open 363 days a year so that users could receive stable treatment services.
A one-day dental clinic
A clinic where you have your tooth prepared today, have the prosthetic attached today, and go home the same day.
If you take the escalator down in the lobby, you’ll see the entrance to our clinic.
It’s still under construction, but if you look at the large signage measuring 5 meters in width, you’ll be able to see a video showing what the dental utopia our clinic aims for will look like.
The second motto of our clinic is one-day treatment.
On Gangnam-daero, there is a brilliant and wonderful clinic called “One-Day Dental Clinic.”
When patients visit, many staff members work to build a system that completes treatment as quickly as possible. At most general dental clinics, when receiving an inlay, crown, or laminate treatment, patients have their teeth prepared on the first day and then return a week later to have the finished prosthetic attached in the mouth.
That one week includes all the time spent communicating with the dental laboratory, making the inlay, crown, or laminate, and shipping back and forth between the clinic and the lab. If any modifications are needed, you have to wait another week.
At our newly opening Garosu-gil Reve Dental Clinic, staff dedicated exclusively to making our clinic’s prosthetics will be on site, and it is a future-oriented clinic that I operate together with the dental laboratory. In fact, many large dental clinics in Gangnam are run this way, helping patients with convenience.
A clinic with reasonable prices.
Maximizing specialization creates optimal efficiency.

The building where our clinic is located houses as many as 10 plastic surgery clinics, and it’s a large building with no fewer than four elevators.
There are two entrances. Haha. Since the hospital is large, it ended up having two entrances....
We divided it into two spaces, each representing a specialized treatment center.

This is the desk for our general treatment / implant center, which is still very much under construction.
We are now entering the final stages, and the interior of the clinic is beginning to take shape.!!
Third, I wanted to create a clinic that aims for reasonable treatment costs.
I also go to hospitals sometimes, right? In truth, it’s very difficult to judge whether something is reasonably priced or not. Even when buying any item...
So I set one rule for myself: first, let’s make the medical staff and facilities the best!
Being young helps you see well and stay motivated.
If a doctor has a dental specialist license, I believe they have a high level of completeness in the care they pursue.
We work with doctors whom anyone would be proud of.
I am someone who believes that maximizing expertise creates optimal efficiency.
Top-tier medical staff in Korea will provide the best treatment services at a cutting-edge dental clinic, while pursuing very reasonable treatment fees.
I will create a clinic whose treatment satisfaction makes patients want to recommend us to friends and acquaintances. I will build a valuable clinic operated with a long-term plan.
Of course, it would be great if revenue increases. However, if the quality of care declines, as a medical professional you lose self-esteem and fall into routine and complacency... I want to create a utopian clinic where both the medical staff and the patients are satisfied.
A flexible clinic that can embrace the latest treatments
A clinic where sedation treatment is possible through the presence of dedicated specialized personnel

This is the desk of the laminate / orthodontic treatment center at our Reve Dental Clinic in Sinsa-dong.
It is operated as an independent space, pursuing private treatment.
This is a space I would proudly call our clinic’s VIP room.
It’s quite spacious, so when foreign visitors come, interpreters can wait together comfortably.
Fourth, I wanted to create a clinic that can embrace the latest treatments.
When it comes to the hot treatments in dentistry these days, Invisalign is the standout in orthodontics, and aesthetically, it would be tooth reshaping—no-prep laminate veneers. These treatments require advanced equipment that is more expensive than you might expect. The camera alone costs more than 5 million won. And the completion of these treatments is very difficult to achieve by the dentist alone. They are treatments that are only possible with truly excellent dental technicians and dental hygienists working together.
The kinds of treatments I felt were impossible at a traditional neighborhood clinic... I want to make them happen beautifully at Reve Dental Clinic.
Together with the lab team I worked hard to bring in, we want to create front-tooth laminate treatment that feels like a single work of art rather than a standardized, mass-produced treatment. One-day laminate treatment should be possible too, right?
Also, many patients tend to think lightly of sedation treatment, but it is a procedure that requires specialized personnel and the corresponding equipment. My dream is to create a clinic where proper sedation anesthesia, performed by an anesthesiology specialist, is possible.
A clinic at the peak where anything is possible
A utopia in the dental field

Many dental clinic directors, when opening their practices, express a lot of resolve and determination in many places.
As I opened my second clinic, I spent a lot of time thinking about how to create a clinic that is beneficial to everyone.
Many of the people who visit Reve Dental Clinic should feel satisfied, and that should be reflected in the treatment fees as well.
I also want to create a clinic that can offer a future vision to the staff who work with me. That way, it will be a clinic where people want to stay for a long time. I will create a clinic that provides the best medical services to patients and pride to the staff.
Thank you for reading this long post.
