This is Baekwonjang’s gourmet review.

After having a child, our restaurant tours have become less frequent, right? Haha. Still, I’m diligently exploring Sinsa Station restaurants during lunchtime.

Today, I’d like to introduce a Sinsa Station restaurant located on Dosan-daero that I visited during lunch.

Actually, this was also a place I featured as a Jamwon-dong restaurant in winter.

It almost seems like there are two branches?? But the signs are different. Is one a knockoff.... The Jamwon-dong one looks like the knockoff..

Even in the soy crab alley, and in places where money can be made, shops with the same name appear like this..

Songtan Budaejjigae Main Branch

I’ve been covering Sinsa Station restaurants near our dental clinic, and this one is at the very top of the hill on Dosan-daero.

Even during lunch, many office workers come here. It’s also famous as a 24-hour restaurant.

Location: 166 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Parking: Valet parking available

This is the main branch of Songtan Budaejjigae in Gangnam-gu.

The place in my previous post is Songtan Budaejjigae in Seocho-gu.

Personally, these seem like different restaurants to me~

If you’ve seen the interior full of autographs from celebrities because it operates 24 hours and gets many visits from entertainers, this is the place.

It’s one of those long-standing, traditional celebrity-favorite restaurants that you sometimes see in Gangnam!

Exterior

Today at noon it was 36°C.. Despite that, I went to try “fighting heat with heat.”

The lettering feels antique... and also a little too old...

The words “iron plate assortment” and even “bacon.” It feels like I’ve come to Namyeong-dong in Yongsan-gu, doesn’t it??

The entire path up is lined with famous signatures.

I didn’t read them all.. but I guess since this is probably the only budaejjigae restaurant on Dosan-daero that’s open 24 hours.. it makes sense that entertainers would love it, haha.

When you go up the stairs to the second floor, you’ll see a solemn message from the owner, who has the admirable mindset of being open 24 hours, 365 days a year...

The same great mindset as our Leve Dental Clinic in Nonhyeon-dong.

Interior

The interior is just... an old-school K-restaurant.

Each table is already fully set with side dishes. Haha.

Since it’s obvious that crowds will come during lunch, they must be doing this with confidence, right?

Here is the menu at Songtan Budaejjigae Main Branch, a Sinsa Station restaurant.

I went there with an appointment, and the two of us ordered one regular budaejjigae and one special budaejjigae serving each.

I thought they might come separately, but they just came out as one hot pot??!

I guess the contents are different..

I don’t fully understand it, but... they’ve kindly taken photos and displayed them.

Hmm... what exactly is the difference between the regular budaejjigae and the special budaejjigae.......?.?

Meal start!!!

Regular budaejjigae + special budaejjigae (13,000 won + 15,000 won)

And so, this is how the two servings of budaejjigae appeared, with sausages, rice cakes, and lots of cheese sitting in the broth.

The regular is one serving and the special is one serving. Hmm... I still don’t know the difference between the two. Haha.

The basic side dishes are only kkakdugi and stir-fried fish cake.

Personally, the kkakdugi was a bit too fermented for me... the radish was too soft, which isn’t really my style.

The stir-fried fish cake is a little mild in flavor, but it’s the kind of taste that keeps making you eat more.

They give you one bowl of rice each.

Now just cover it with the lid over high heat.. and wait 10 minutes for the budaejjigae to be done.

The budaejjigae is boiling furiously.

No matter which restaurant you go to, it’s always amazing how something that looks like plain water turns red when it boils.

I guess the sauce in this pot is the secret to the restaurant’s success? Haha

There’s more beef than expected, and a lot of sausage too.

You’ll be surprised if you put in a ladle.

Actually, I went there with someone I was having a meal with for the first time...

so I couldn’t take that many obsessive photos....

What I want to show you is that it includes one serving of ramen noodles.

That there was more sausage and ham than expected. And that they tasted quite good.

That the long, thinly sliced green onions helped balance the flavor so it wouldn’t feel greasy..

It was tastier than I expected. As expected, a place that has survived for a long time in Gangnam is different! Haha

As the grandmother who visited our clinic today said... she came all the way from faraway Jeollanam-do, but the best dentist is in Gangnam~~~ That line came to mind. Haha

We really cleaned it all out.

Ah.. the visual isn’t very good, sorry.....

Please just take this lightly as proof that we finished the whole pot :) Haha

I really enjoyed the meal again today.!!!

Conclusion

A 24-hour budaejjigae restaurant in Gangnam. A flavor you might think of from time to time.

Honestly, I didn’t go with very high expectations, but it was tastier than I expected.

It’s not quite at the level of my favorite Uijeongbu Oden Restaurant Main Branch or Chorongi Aunt’s Budaejjigae, but it’s definitely delicious.

That’s surely thanks to the high-quality sausage and ham.

The broth was also not too greasy and was just right.

In my personal opinion, it was truly quite good, but at the same time, there wasn’t a standout point that really made my eyes open wide.

It’s really tasty! But after eating it, it feels like the memory of the taste disappears from the tongue, and only the memory of the sight and the mind remain.

Anyway, it’s a good restaurant, but there’s a bit of disappointment because it feels like a sixth-rank noble.

I’d say accessibility is usually a bit lacking... but since valet is available and it’s open 24 hours, I’ll give it 4 points.

And it’s close to our Leve Dental Clinic in Nonhyeon-dong too... haha

Anyway, the score is just how I feel, with plenty of personal bias~~~

It was a great restaurant with nothing lacking, but at the same time, I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a particularly unique kick.
