This is Baekwonjang’s food column.

I went out on Friday, my day off, to eat some delicious pork ribs.

Not long ago, I introduced a Blue Ribbon Survey marinated pork ribs place near Gongdeok Station, right?

It was tasty, but the flavor was a little too refined...

I like a deep, highly addictive flavor, haha.

This is the place right here...

I posted about it more than a year ago, and this time the interior of the restaurant was renovated, so I visited again.

And once again, I was satisfied...

Songdo Galbi Guri Wakerhill Branch

If you’re looking for a truly addictive pork ribs restaurant, this is the place. On top of that, it’s a Han River-view spot next to Wakerhill, which makes it even more popular. If you’re looking for a spacious and comfortable restaurant in Gyeonggi-do, this is exactly that kind of place, isn’t it?

Location: 47 Achasan-ro, Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do

Parking: Free when using the restaurant.

This is a Wakerhill restaurant in Guri, Gyeonggi-do.

Interestingly, although it has the name Songdo Galbi, if you visit the restaurant you’ll notice that the elevator says Cheonjiryeon. It seems like it used to be Cheonjiryeon Guri Wakerhill Branch... but now Cheonjiryeon no longer appears in searches, and you have to search for Songdo Galbi to find it..!..

It recently finished renovating, and it used to be a sit-down restaurant where you ate on the floor, but now it has been completely changed into a place where you take off your shoes and sit at tables.

There are private rooms too. It’s a good place for family gatherings or company dinners. It has rooms in various sizes, from 6-person rooms to 20-person rooms~~

Exterior

An entrance like a hanok. It always feels warm and familiar whenever I come here.

This is my nth visit... I’ve come here with friends and family, and I visit often~

On this day, after visiting V Spa at Wakerhill, we came here to take care of our hunger.

Interior

We visited around 3:50 p.m., and it turned out that lunch menu orders were available until 4:00 p.m. I couldn’t photograph the lunch menu separately, but you can think of it as getting an additional meal when ordering one serving of pork ribs.

Pork ribs grilled over this charcoal fire are truly the real deal!!!!!

Hanpan charcoal-grilled marinated pork set (27,900 KRW per person)

One of the advantages of Cheonjiryeon, known as a Wakerhill restaurant, is that the staff neatly grills this marinated galbi for you. What you see above is the amount for 2 servings of Hanpan charcoal-grilled marinated pork.

"Hanpan" refers to fresh domestic Korean pork, and if it just says charcoal-grilled marinated pork, it refers to the frozen Canadian pork version.

My personal recommendation is to go with the Hanpan charcoal-grilled marinated pork.

I’ve been eating the charcoal-grilled marinated pork since the days when it cost 9,900 KRW... and the difference in taste is quite noticeable.

While they diligently grill the meat, the side dishes come out.

There may not seem to be many kinds, but each one tastes better than expected.

These are my family’s favorite side dishes.

Japchae and squid sikhae!

It’s not "octopus sikhae," but squid sikhae is correct~~~ Think of it as a delicious radish-strip kimchi-like side dish.

Both the japchae and the squid sikhae have a somewhat punchy flavor... but they’re consistently delicious no matter when you eat them. You’ll probably find yourself thinking about them again and again after eating...

The left is fried eggplant, and the right is pumpkin salad.

The fried eggplant is also so good. It’s fried far better than expected, showing the essence of crispy outside, moist inside... and it’s not too hot either, so you may find yourself eating one piece after another and then another ㅎㅎㅎ

While we were enjoying the side dishes, the Hanpan charcoal-grilled marinated pork was cooking beautifully...

The staff grilling it really gave off a true pro vibe... It cooks surprisingly fast, and since they grill it deliciously without burning it, it’s genuinely enjoyable to watch!!

For the lunch special, you could choose one meal item.

I chose the cold noodles, which I always eat, and my partner chose stone pot rice.

The cold noodles have that slightly MSG-like broth flavor we’ve enjoyed since long ago!!! It’s a taste that Koreans can’t help but like. ㅎㅎ If you order stone pot rice, it comes with soybean paste stew, and that stew is also quite punchy and delicious.

It’s not in the photo, but the cold noodles + stone pot rice combination was really nice.

And so the meat keeps cooking... giving us a great thumbnail.

It looks like a campfire... A truly mouthwatering Wakerhill restaurant.

Pick up a piece and eat it with the squid sikhae.

The marinade really fills your mouth with a strong, impactful flavor,

To the point that I thought, "Isn’t this like addictive marinated pork ribs!?" — it’s a restaurant with a bold but charming taste. Most of the branches are in Gyeonggi-do, and the flavor is really consistent from branch to branch... the service is also great, and the restaurant is clean... Cheonjiryeon is always love, whenever I come.

Charcoal-grilled marinated pork, 1 serving (21,900 KRW)

As I kept eating, I wanted more... It’s not easy to come to Cheonjiryeon... So out of curiosity, this time I ordered just one serving of the Canadian charcoal-grilled marinated pork instead of the domestic Hanpan charcoal-grilled marinated pork.

Personally, I think the difference in taste is quite noticeable. Why? Because the texture of the meat itself is quite different~ The spicy, delicious marinated pork ribs are the same with both, but the difference in freshness and springiness of the texture is something the other one can’t match. It’s a 3,000 KRW difference per serving... Now that everything has become so much more expensive, if you’re going to eat it anyway, I’d recommend going with the Hanpan charcoal-grilled marinated pork.

Looking at it again, it’s a price that would be unforgivable if it didn’t taste good.........

We ate really, really well today too.!!!

Conclusion

Marinated pork ribs are simply number one at Cheonjiryeon..

What I want to say to those reading this blog post: Please search Naver Map to see whether there’s a Cheonjiryeon near you. Personally, I’ve been to quite a few marinated pork ribs restaurants... and if your taste is similar to mine and you’re reading this blog, you probably won’t be able to dislike Cheonjiryeon!!!!

If you live in eastern Seoul, I cautiously recommend visiting Songdo Galbi Guri Wakerhill Branch, where you can enjoy delicious Hanpan marinated pork ribs while taking in the Han River view. The price has now become quite unbelievably high... but it’s not easy to find a place where every side dish is delicious one by one, right? I even ate all the meal items provided and ended up having another bowl of rice... Seriously, you really should stop by!!

This is a place I always, consistently praise.

Although there aren’t many side dishes, everything tastes satisfying. There isn’t much difference in taste between branches, the staff are very friendly, and the service is really good too. Seeing this makes me naturally think that Chairman of Shinhwa Food is the kind of person who was bound to succeed.

Anyway... I had a really great time near Seoul with my wife after a long while..... I was so happy. This is definitely not a sponsored post paid by Cheonjiryeon..
