[Sinsa Station Restaurant] Song Chef Sinsa Main Branch - A Chinese Restaurant Loved by Lee Yeon-ji, Featured Twice on Delicious Guys.

This is Baek Clinic Director's Muksullang.

It’s been a while since I introduced a restaurant in Garosu-gil near Sinsa Station. Today, I’m sharing a Chinese restaurant I visited when my friends came to town. It was featured twice on Delicious Guys and is also well known as one of Lee Yeon-ji’s favorite restaurants!!

Personally, I found Beijing Restaurant a little disappointing...... It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t think it was a place I’d want to go back to...

Song Chef Sinsa Main Branch The Song Chef Sinsa Main Branch I’m introducing today is famous for all kinds of dishes. But honestly, the jjajangmyeon was delicious and the jjamppong was delicious too!!!

This is a review from the three of us ^^

Location: 40 Dosan-daero 1-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Parking: Valet parking available.

It’s located right next to the famous Sinsa Square. It took us 15 minutes to walk there from Rev Dental Clinic.... Anyway, it’s a great Chinese food place not far from Garosu-gil.

Evaluation on the Siksin app

This is a Chinese restaurant that has received 2 stars on the Siksin app. It must really be a pretty good place.. If you’re visiting Sinsa Station or Garosu-gil, this is definitely worth stopping by!!

Exterior

It’s been quite hot these days, right? haha I visited on Sunday, and it was busy~ Actually, Garosu-gil can feel a bit quiet on Sundays.. but this place had a lot of customers.

I can’t even remember when the POING app was... it won an award in 2017!? It got 3 stars on the Siksin app. Right now it’s at 2 stars~ And it’s also a place that appeared twice on Delicious Guys!! Even early on..

Interior

The interior is quite clean. As expected of a Chinese restaurant, the very cool indoor atmosphere is appealing!!! It was crowded, so I couldn’t take many photos, but the posters on the walls were really charming. hehe

Meal begins!!!

The basic side dishes are peanuts, pickled cabbage, zha cai, and danmuji. After trying them, they all had decent, solid flavor!

Chili large shrimp (42,000 KRW)

We ordered the chili large shrimp at the urging of the younger siblings who came with us. I always order this when I go to a Chinese restaurant.. and today, luckily, I got to eat it again.

It looked a bit unusual. The long, thin fried coating seemed to copy the shape of a real shrimp.

The coconut powder on top was distinctive.

How did it taste?

The shrimp was fried thinly and crisply just right, which really whetted my appetite!? And the shrimp inside was surprisingly substantial, making it a pleasantly satisfying dish.

Glutinous sweet and sour pork (guobaorou, 35,000 KRW)

The second dish to appear was glutinous sweet and sour pork. It’s called guobaorou, but I heard it’s different from the guobaorou sold in China!?

A distinctive dish with a light dusting of misutgaru on top. And the sauce color is darker than expected. When you think of guobaorou, it should usually have a sweet and tangy flavor~ This one stood out for its sauce, which looked quite heavy.

The auntie sliced it so nicely like this. Since it was cut to make it easy to eat, it looked even more delicious. The neatly arranged pieces~ you can definitely feel the touch of a skilled hand, right?

Doesn’t it look really appetizing? What’s interesting is that the first bite is a little surprising... The flavor is very strong!!! But the more it cools down, The more time passes, the better it tastes.

This isn’t just my opinion; the younger siblings who came with me said the same thing~~~~ So it’s the kind of guobaorou that feels strangely addictive.. really.

The next dish to appear is Ganjjajang. hehe

Seafood ganjjajang + fried egg (12,000 KRW)

This dish was photographed so beautifully and impressively. It’s seafood ganjjajang. hahaha It’s also a recommended menu item at Song Chef, right?

For me, who loves Shinseung Banjeom in Chinatown, jjajangmyeon with a fried egg is one of my favorites. A bowl of jjajangmyeon with the savory richness of egg yolk is truly so good, right? haha

Anyway, the ganjjajang had great texture with the onions still crisp. It tasted really good. For reference, it was on a completely different level from the one I had at Beijing Restaurant near Sinsa Station last time...

Stir-fried glass noodles with fried rice + fried egg (14,000 KRW)

The final star is fried rice topped with japchae. Originally, I was planning to have japchae stir-fry + rice, but I changed course to japchae + fried rice!!! Today, when I was craving a more intense fried rice, I thought this was absolutely the best choice!!!

The japchae was exactly as bold as I wanted, and the noodles were thin, making it really tasty. I think Song Chef is very good at Chinese food. :)

I really, really enjoyed the meal today too.!!!

Conclusion Most menu items are a success!! If you come to Garosu-gil, stop by Song Chef Main Branch!

As the saying goes, even a spoiled fish can still be delicious... I thought that if a place has been a long-running classic in Garosu-gil, everything there would be delicious.... Actually, I was quite disappointed by the Beijing Restaurant I visited last time, right?? Still, Song Chef has 2 stars on the Siksin app. I trusted it and visited....

As expected, I’m glad I went! The food was really delicious :)

First of all, the main dishes were distinctively tasty. You can get similar dishes at other Chinese restaurants too, but the way they added their own little twist to make the food delicious was really satisfying! The guobaorou with a slightly richer sauce was charming.. and the misutgaru on top was even more charming.... The chili shrimp had both a good shape and good taste ^^

Because the food was delicious and valet parking is available, I gave it 5 stars. Access was a bit annoying because I walked there on a hot day.... but in normal weather, it’s definitely a comfortable place to visit. Valet parking is available too, so feel free to go anytime without 부담! If there’s a branch nearby, I wonder if that branch would be good too... haha
