This is Baek's gourmet guide.

A Korean restaurant I happened to discover more than a year ago.

Especially known for its delicious braised sea bream.

You can also get a 10% discount with a premium credit card and earn points... Anyway, Hyatt is love.

This review is already over a year old... It’s a long-overdue revisit, and this is my report after coming back and enjoying the braised sea bream so much.

Park Hyatt Seoul The Lounge

This place has better meal quality than you might expect.

When you hear “lounge,” you usually think of a place for a cup of coffee or a cocktail... but this is an all-around great meal spot.

There isn’t even the usual break time, and they serve delicious food late into the day. And valet parking is convenient on top of that ~~

Location: 24th floor, Park Hyatt Seoul, 606 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Parking: Valet available.

After valet parking, if you say you came to the lounge to eat, they will guide you straight to the 24th floor.

I visited on a weekday a little past lunch time, and there was no wait at all, which was great!!

Exterior

This is Park Hyatt Seoul The Lounge, a place that always feels nice to visit.

When you get off on the 24th floor, the concierge is right in front of you, and The Lounge is on the left.

The high ceiling gives it an open feel, and the interior has a touch of Korean traditional style with beautiful standout colors.

Every time I come, I feel good, so I had my wife stand there and took a quick 인증샷 ^^ haha

The purple carpet was striking.

I don’t know who oversees this kind of interior design, but I always feel grateful every time I come!

Since I visited on a weekday during the late lunch hour, there were almost no guests, so it was really quiet and nice.

If you look at the seat on the right, you can see that they used a pretty pink accent.

You’ll understand once you visit, but this is truly a thoughtfully designed space.

The menu is pretty no matter when I look at it. haha

Park Hyatt Seoul The Lounge, a U.S. chain hotel with a strong Korean feel.

This is the course menu at Park Hyatt Seoul The Lounge.

It’s 75,000 KRW or 135,000 KRW per person, but I was too full to consider it.

Looking at the price and the course composition... if you plan to have a meal and coffee together, the course doesn’t seem bad.

As expected, true to its reputation as a top-tier braised sea bream spot, braised sea bream is listed first!?

It’s a menu item you absolutely must not miss. hahaha

And today, while debating what else to order....

My wife ordered the abalone mountain vegetable fried rice ~

It’s still mango shaved ice season. At 110,000 KRW, it’s on the pricey side.

We recently went to Grand Hyatt Seoul, right!?

That apple mango shaved ice was really delicious....

Wouldn’t the Park Hyatt apple mango shaved ice be delicious too~ haha

Meal begins!!!

Along with a neat table setting, out comes the vegetables skewered upright, like one of the signature touches of The Lounge at Park Hyatt Seoul (!?)

You can pick them up one by one with your hands and dip them in the sauce. haha

A tip: they do refills.

Braised sea bream (41,000 KRW -> 36,900 KRW)

The braised sea bream set arrived first. Ta-da.

It came with four simple side dishes, rice, and soybean paste soup.

The kind staff neatly arranged everything for us. Really nice~

This is boneless braised sea bream, with the scales still clearly visible.

The moist appearance is so impressive that it almost looks like braised fresh cod rather than braised sea bream.

At a glance, it gives off an aroma that Koreans just can’t dislike.

Today’s four side dishes.

I think it was the same last year too... side dishes with a pleasantly familiar taste.

Honestly, if even the side dishes served together are delicious, that’s probably because it’s a hotel... right?!

It’s been a while since I’ve had braised sea bream.

And there are three layers of those big chunks of flesh, so the portion is quite generous!

Whenever I eat the braised sea bream at Park Hyatt Seoul The Lounge, I find myself wondering if I really need to go somewhere else just to eat braised fish.

With the moist, savory flesh of the sea bream, eating it together with the skin makes it taste really good.

Depending on the person, the broth may feel a little sweet, but I’m very satisfied.

And by the way, even the plain rice itself is delicious, and the soybean paste soup is pleasantly tasty too, so I think it’s excellent.

Abalone mountain vegetable fried rice (45,000 KRW -> 40,500 KRW)

A menu even more expensive than the braised sea bream, the signature dish of Park Hyatt Seoul The Lounge......

We chose this after debating it until the end with the samgyetang.

It really is a dish topped with plenty of abalone and mountain vegetables, right?

For reference, the side dishes and soybean paste soup are the same.

As expected from a meal served at a luxury hotel, they seem to use ingredients generously without holding back.

The mountain vegetables look really fresh, and the abalone is neatly sliced and piled on generously.

They say there’s fried rice underneath, and of course... even without trying it, it must taste good, right!?

Now let’s give it a try.

I scooped up a spoonful and took a photo.

The fried rice, cooked nice and firm, is excellent.

Personally, the abalone was sliced so thinly that its flavor didn’t come through very strongly.

The mountain vegetables had a really rich aroma, which I enjoyed.

Still, 45,000 KRW feels a bit expensive...

Today’s date was really nice..

We ate really, really well again today.!!!

Conclusion

If you like braised fish, definitely stop by ^^

It was still delicious even after a long time away.

An unexpected Korean food gem... it has Western dishes too, but this is a hotel lounge with more Korean menu items, which makes it a unique concept.

The high ceiling makes you feel good when you sit there. The space isn’t extremely large, but that’s understandable given it’s Park Hyatt and located in the city~

Valet parking is also convenient. Park Hyatt Seoul supports valet for almost every credit card.

There is a 10,000 KRW valet fee when using the venue, but it can be covered by free valet through a credit card, and if it goes over 3 hours, they say you can just pay twice.

If you look, they’ve marked a 10% discount on each menu item, and I was told that both the Hyundai Amex Platinum (hereafter HyunAmex Platinum) and the Hyundai Korean Air The First edition 1 (hereafter Hyundai The First) cards are eligible for the 10% discount, so I paid with The First card.

The 10% discount is just the base, and when you add World of Hyatt point accumulation and special mileage earning... if used well, the total benefit comes to about 25-30%.

And recently, Andaz Seoul was pretty good too..

As expected, Hyatt properties always leave me with a good experience~ haha

It’s a place worth visiting from time to time. I really like it.

Honestly, the fried rice was a bit less delicious, but the braised sea bream is the best. haha
