Hello.
I’m Baek, the director of Dream Dental Clinic, LeB Dental.
I’ve been extremely busy lately setting up a sedation laminate dental clinic near Sinsa Station..!...
So I only wrote Part 1 and couldn’t deliver Part 2.
Today, for St. Regis Bali Part 2, I’d like to share my review of breakfast, dinner, and the Michelin restaurant Kayuputi.
In the previous Part 1, I shared my review of the Platinum pool villa suite upgrade.
Of course,
it can’t really be compared to Bulgari Bali, one of Bali’s top resort destinations.. but the St. Regis is still more than good enough.

St. Regis Bali Resort
(The St. Regis Bali Resort)
Breakfast, Dinner, and Kayuputi
Among the many beautiful resorts in Nusa Dua, St. Regis Bali Resort is often called a honeymoon mecca.
Today, following the room introduction from the previous post, I’d like to introduce the food.
Please keep in mind that this visit was between March and April 2025!
Breakfast and dinner are at Boneka!!

When you enter the St. Regis Bali lobby, there is a large restaurant on the right.
That is Boneka, where they serve the breakfast buffet and dinner buffet (a feast!!!).

As expected from the St. Regis, the antique atmosphere is excellent.
It somehow feels like the patterns symbolize Indonesia.
I’m not someone who especially trusts Western-style buffets in Southeast Asia (?!) but let me show you what it was like.

We visited on the very first day. Naturally, it was dinner, right?
There were quite a lot of guests.
Since we were at St. Regis Bali Resort, we needed to handle all our meals inside the resort.
The St. Regis Bali Boneka is famous for being delicious when ordering à la carte, so let’s see whether it lives up to its reputation!

I’m not really into this traditional... dark-colored... style...
It’s a place that people either like or dislike.

A seat kindly arranged by the staff.
My wife was absolutely thrilled. The word had spread that the à la carte dishes here were really good~?! Haha

This is the dinner menu at Boneka in St. Regis Bali.
It’s 790,000 IDR per person. Roughly... a little over 70,000 KRW.
If you can get a dinner buffet for just over 70,000 KRW per person, it’s worth trying, right?
And if I remember correctly, there was a 10% discount. Maybe it was a guest discount...
A nice point is that you can enjoy it until 10 p.m.
We ordered a ridiculous amount of different dishes.

They grill skewers and similar items outside the buffet area.
I think they did that at the Shangri-La Hotel in Thailand too... and in any case, they also have sashimi.

There were nuts and simple cheese items near the entrance.
The overall atmosphere isn’t super fancy.
Next to that, there are simple baked goods.
The butter is rolled into a round shape, making it look even tastier... haha

You can just look at it casually. That’s chicken leg meat and grilled beef.

This is the open kitchen where they prepare the à la carte dishes you order.
They also have tempura items prepared.
But... it doesn’t look especially appetizing, does it??

What’s interesting is that they make pasta on one side,
while on the other side they serve sashimi and roll sushi.
But as is typical with Southeast Asian fish... the sashimi looks a bit cloudy...ㅠㅠ It doesn’t look appetizing...

There was a surprisingly wide variety of dishes.
The 특징 is that most of them are neatly served on small plates.
They are dishes with a very exotic feel.

The one on the right seems to be a shrimp dish...
There are a lot of small dishes, so it’s good for tasting a little of everything.

On the left is black pepper beef, and on the right is chicken curry in a Bali style?
There’s quite a lot of meat surprisingly.

It was so Southeast Asian that I couldn’t bring myself to take much... clearly a fish dish...

It really is displayed in a diverse and pretty way, but I’m a little unsure whether it’s the style Korean people would like.
Happily, there is smoked salmon, which we often see in Korea as well.

There are quite a few barbecue items as well.
But why does it feel so... unlovable...

Desserts are also provided in a surprisingly wide variety.
Some desserts are made to order.
Southeast Asia has amazing fruit, right? Haha
Watermelon and melon. Fruits with lots of water are naturally delicious.

They make ice cream on this cold metal slab! Did you like Cold Stone back in the day?
It gives exactly that feeling~

So I brought back this much.
The plates are really pretty and nice~
Actually, I have a small appetite, so I couldn’t take much. ㅠㅠㅠ
And the disappointing part is that the lighting doesn’t really help photos come out well? ㅠㅠ

Mushroom tortellini
(Wild mushrooms - truffle cream bisque, Parmesan foam, and crispy mushrooms)
The plated dishes definitely look more delicious!!!
And they taste better too.
On a huge plate, the food is placed in a tiny little portion. haha

Rack of lamb, Australian lamb chops
(Purple eggplant caviar, rosemary beet juice)
The lamb chops had a rather grand visual.
Meat in Southeast Asia is just so-so.
Even though it clearly said Australian...

Seared foie gras
(Organic chicken leg, truffle potatoes, braised onion)
It’s known for being soft, right? The foie gras was rich and tasty.

Nasi Goreng Sultan - fried rice with crispy egg and crab
My wife is basically a nasi goreng fanatic.
I remembered how delicious it was at Bulgari Bali, so I ordered nasi goreng here at St. Regis Bali as well.
There’s definitely something charming about how well they stir-fry it.

Catch of the day fillet
(vegetables, yuzu - beurre blanc sauce)
You could just call it grilled fish! This was also not bad.
Overall, the buffet had a wide variety of food, but personally I think it is somewhat far from Korean tastes.
Southeast Asian food is delicious, but... after eating it for a while, there are definitely some things you can’t really eat, right? Something like that...
Compared to that, the plated dishes that are made to order felt closer to Western cuisine, so they were easier to eat and felt more familiar.
Let’s take a brief look at the Boneka breakfast.

Honestly, I was so disappointed with dinner.
So I really had no expectations for breakfast.....
Since St. Regis Bali Resort is a Marriott property in Southeast Asia, Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above can receive free breakfast for two.
I didn’t calculate the exact price, but considering Indonesian prices, it probably isn’t all that expensive.

I think this was French toast.
That strawberry... that wild-strawberry-like thing... was not as good as expected. ㅠㅠ
It tasted like thawed frozen strawberries or something.

The omurice my wife ordered (!?)
I didn’t try it. The visuals are... very strong.

A simple brunch.
As you can see, the overall quality isn’t especially high.
It may be top-tier within Indonesia, but brunch in Hannam-dong or Cheongdam-dong is much tastier...

This waffle!!!
It’s the level of waffles they used to sell when I was in college.
Eating it almost feels like a loss... it’s a taste we all know. haha...
Kayuputi
Michelin Restaurant

Should I call this the pride of St. Regis Bali Resort?
There is a restaurant called Kayuputi.
I’ll leave you the link! The exterior has been photographed very beautifully. hahaha
That view was not taken from inside the resort, but from the private beach.
In other words...

If you look outside from inside, it’s roughly like this~!
You can see the signature red umbrellas of St. Regis Bali together with the beach.

If you look from the outdoor restaurant seats, the large pool below is right beneath your feet.
Far away, you can see the beach and the Indian Ocean — it’s such a beautiful place!

Anyway, I’d definitely recommend going here.
You’ll need to spend a bit more... but don’t settle for a cheap dinner — please make sure to go here.
The dinner is really... disappointing ㅠㅠ The dinner at hotels in Jeju is much tastier.

The entrance also creates a dreamy atmosphere.
This place at least feels somewhat like a developed-country setting.

When you go in, you’ll naturally say, “Wow!”
A clean and beautiful space unfolds before you.
The distinctive interior style of Bali, Indonesia, creates a highly exotic atmosphere,
while the food served by staff in neat attire includes Balinese-style and Italian-style dishes.
You’ll think, this is the peak of a St. Regis Bali visit!

It’s a place with very high ceilings, so the atmosphere is really good at night!
What’s interesting is... there were a lot of white guests here.
It felt especially loved by white grandparents.

A welcome drink served as soon as you sit down!
You’ve got to drink it while it’s cold, right? haha

This is the menu at Kayuputi, St. Regis Bali Resort.
The left side seems to be a course menu, and it appears to be around 170,000 KRW.
Considering Indonesian prices, that’s an enormous price...!...

The à la carte prices are roughly on par with the food at 5-star hotels in Korea.
It’s expensive... but how many Michelin-recognized places are there in Bali, Indonesia? Let’s enjoy it.
It received one Michelin star in 2023.

Although it’s called international cuisine... to me it felt closer to European-style food.
I ordered whatever caught my eye.

This bread before the meal is seriously delicious.
And there are even four different sauces (?) to eat with it.
It’s a secret that I got a refill of that butter because it was so good...
You can tear it apart from both ends and eat it... personally, I thought this place was delicious from the moment I tried it.
It would do amazingly well in Korea too.

And this item that came with it.
Honestly, it’s been a while, so I forgot what it tasted like.......
It must have been delicious...

The two plates we ordered came out together!

Seafood linguini (495,000 IDR)
An expensive pasta at about 45,000 KRW.
At a glance, you can see the impressive scallops and shrimp that make it impossible for this to be bad.

You know that good pasta also has great noodle texture, right?
It’s just so delicious.
If you don’t find my opinion trustworthy, check the Google reviews! They’re full of praise.

Sari Segara (590,000 IDR)
A dish that could be described as assorted grilled seafood.
I didn’t take photos very well, so the dish is a bit obscured, but it’s a very substantial and tasty plate with well-grilled lobster, octopus, and scallops.
We were too full, so we had no choice but to eat à la carte... but Kayuputi left me wishing we had gone for the course meal instead.
Next time I come (whenever that may be..?) I’m definitely going to have the course.
With that, I’ve finished my two-part review of a 2-night, 3-day stay at St. Regis Bali.
If you’re going to Bali, this is definitely a place worth considering visiting!!
I’ve been to both Bulgari Bali and St. Regis Bali, and each has its own charm, but since the price range is different, I hope this honest review helps you decide!!
If you want a stronger villa feel and want to focus on time alone as a couple while having someone look after the children, Bulgari Bali seems like the right choice.
If you want something that feels more like a family trip, with a lively atmosphere where you can swim and have fun noisily, St. Regis Bali seems like the better fit.
The shops inside Bulgari Bali aren’t exactly cheap. It looks better to buy luxury goods in Tokyo.
I did say the price range is different, but if you go for a pool villa at St. Regis, it’s not cheap either... so I think it’s best to decide based on the purpose of your visit!
For reference, with Bulgari Bali, you can’t get any benefits from Marriott Bonvoy tiers. They don’t even give qualifying night credits... and of course, they don’t provide breakfast either.
However, when using the Shinhan Marriott Bonvoy The Best Card, I confirmed that special earning of 5 points per 1,000 KRW is possible. Please keep that in mind and have a great trip!!
That’s all from the everyday life of this dental clinic director!!
