[Jeju Seogwipo Cafe] Apple Mango 1947 - The Secret to Finding Delicious Jeju Apple Mango Bingsu Is Diced Mango. A Self-Paid Review of the Bingsu Mecca.

This is Baek’s Michelin-inspired food blog.

At the end of summer, I thought I wouldn’t have any more chance to eat apple mango bingsu,

but after a trip to Jeju in late August, I ended up eating Jeju apple mango bingsu twice more. Haha.

A honest review of the 110,000 won mango bingsu I had at Grand Hyatt Seoul!

At the time, I was able to go at a relatively reasonable price thanks to the Shinhan Card lounge coffee voucher, right?

It was truly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had in my life, and it was a top-tier apple mango bingsu with an incredible amount of apple mango.

Apple Mango 1947

While active on a Naver cafe community, I learned that there is a mecca for Jeju apple mango bingsu in Seogwipo, Jeju.

It was a place that was even said to be more delicious than the Jeju Shilla apple mango bingsu.

They run an apple mango farm themselves and also operate this place, so I’d like to introduce it.

Location: 32 Sinpyeong-ro, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province

Parking: Parking available in front of the store.

There are two branches: the Jeju branch and the Seogwipo branch.

Since we were enjoying a hotel staycation in the Jungmun Tourist Complex, we visited the Seogwipo branch.

It has truly become the mecca for Jeju apple mango bingsu now... if you go late, you have to wait!!

Outside

It was a little hot, but the weather made for really great photos!!

The store is quite large. But what’s even more impressive is that they have placed so many beautiful palm trees around it.

There are also plenty of outdoor tables~

The scenery was so beautiful that I took photos while leaving my wife and child behind :)

The palm trees were so lush, thick, and tall that just looking at them made it feel like I was abroad... haha.

Inside

As soon as you step inside the store, you’ll be greeted by a checkout counter in apple mango colors.

There was one long table in the center and about 10 tables where groups could sit and eat.

We waited while sitting at the long table in the center, then moved to a smaller table when one opened up!

A baby chair is available ^^

There were more than 10 autographs from various people.

Doesn’t that mean it’s delicious and famous~~ haha.

They also display and sell apple mangoes like this!

I visited on August 30.

This is the menu at Apple Mango 1947.

I’m not sure whether they really started the farm in 1947...

Anyway, you should order the Jeju apple mango bingsu, which serves 2–3 people.

Personally, I think the set is better. You can extend the enjoyment on the way home by drinking mango juice.

Let the meal begin!!!

Jeju Apple Mango Bingsu (39,000 won, 47,000 won for the set)

We ordered the bingsu + juice set, and asked for the juice to be given to us when we were leaving.

A very appetizing-looking apple mango bingsu appears just from looking at it.

When you look up close, you can really feel the properly ripened Jeju apple mango!!!

As I wrote in the title earlier, I think you should go to places where the mango bingsu is made with diced mango.

Why? Because... if you make bingsu with sliced mango, you still need to use mango that’s somewhat firm, right?

Usually, mango that is a little ripe and soft tastes better than firm mango...

So I think mango bingsu with diced mango is more delicious.

Of course, that was also true for the Grand Hyatt Seoul Kaimak Jeju apple mango bingsu!

It’s truly a wonderful dessert :)

It looks delicious just by looking at it, and it smells great too.

Then I picked up a piece of mango and tasted it...

To me, it tasted very similar to the apple mango bingsu at Grand Hyatt Seoul.

I was surprised by how delicious it was, and I was also surprised again that the mango bingsu I had at Grand Hyatt Seoul was that delicious too. haha.

It was so good that I wondered if I could enjoy such a luxury for 39,000 won!

And on the side plate that comes with it, there are roasted (?) coconut chips and coconut milk. These are surprisingly delicious. They taste great when added to the bingsu, and they’re also very good on their own!!!

We really, really ate well today.!!!

Conclusion

Apple Mango 1947’s mango bingsu is a place I should visit every year!!!!!

Somehow, I ended up eating mango bingsu four times this year.

The most delicious one was still the Jeju apple mango bingsu with kaimak from 'Gallery' at Grand Hyatt Seoul.

However... at the regular price, it was quite expensive at 110,000 won.

But this place I visited this time. The Jeju apple mango bingsu at Apple Mango 1947 in Seogwipo was also truly a mango bingsu spot that could stand alongside it!! There’s a reason why so many members of that huge Naver cafe community recommend it.

Both were truly delicious, but the apple mango bingsu at Apple Mango 1947 contains mango worth exactly 39,000 won.

In other words, the apple mango bingsu at 'Gallery' in Grand Hyatt Seoul costs 110,000 won, but it had so much mango that I could eat until I was full. It also comes with delicious kaimak :)

Parking: Use the store parking.

People from Seoul probably won’t go all the way to Jeju just to eat apple mango bingsu, but when it’s apple mango bingsu season in Jeju, maybe the answer is simply to go all out at Grand Hyatt Seoul and eat until you’re stuffed.

That said, if you’re traveling in Jeju, I think stopping by casually and having a good time at Apple Mango 1947 is also a very reasonable choice. Haha.

Apple Mango 1947 has now become my favorite tier-1 restaurant along with Jeju’s Bakery Ppangeut ^^
