One Veneer on the Front Teeth Broke at Another Dental Clinic Near Sinsa Station. Solved with Revenate from Lev Dental Clinic, Experts in Veneer Retreatment!!

Quite a few people visit us after one of their veneers from another dental clinic has broken, hoping that we might be able to help.

Many of them have had veneers placed on four or more front teeth—usually six to eight. But even when something breaks, it is most often just one veneer, which can put them in a very difficult situation.

When only one front-tooth veneer has broken, many dental clinics say that matching the color and shape is too difficult and recommend removing all of them and starting over.

It can be a very difficult choice, with neither option feeling ideal...

The veneers on the front teeth that I had treated at another dental clinic ten years ago broke.

When I went back to the original clinic, they said that all six had to be redone.

Could Lev Dental Clinic do something about it..?

This patient came to us after one front-tooth veneer had broken.

As you can see, five of the six front-tooth veneers were attractive, and their colors were all similar.

The teeth had also been reduced much more than expected.

These days, many dental clinics make veneers that require little to no tooth reduction—such as the Revenate Master lineup at our Lev Dental Clinic near Sinsa Station. But just a few years ago, teeth often had to be reduced that much because the technology was not as advanced.

The patient visited Lev Dental Clinic near Sinsa Station mainly because of the cost, and because they wanted to treat only one tooth rather than undergo treatment on several teeth.

we took on the challenge of creating a seamless veneer using the Revenate Expert lineup.

When only one veneer has broken, it is difficult to make a new veneer that blends with the surrounding veneers for the following reasons.

1. The passage of time. It is by no means easy to reproduce the subtle color changes that occur over the years—usually due to the cement bonding the teeth and veneers—and incorporate them into a new veneer.

2. We do not know which veneer block was originally used. There are products from many different companies, and veneers are made at a variety of dental laboratories, so honestly, it is almost impossible to create a veneer that matches the surrounding ones in color.

3. It is simply impossible to convey the color and texture accurately by taking only a few photographs and sending the work out to a dental laboratory.

At Lev Dental Clinic near Sinsa Station, we assign a dedicated ceramist to each patient.

Even veneers on the same front teeth can appear to have completely different colors depending on the lighting, angle, and camera.

That is why it is most important for the ceramist who will personally make the Revenate veneer to speak directly with the patient and personally determine the color. This can be considered the number-one essential factor in creating an attractive veneer.

We took comparison photographs using the 0M3, 0M2, and 0M1 shade tabs.

Naturally, the camera used to photograph the treatment before and after is different from the camera used to determine the Revenate shade.

Using multiple cameras to achieve a more precise and attractive result... That is what sets Lev Dental Clinic near Sinsa Station apart from other dental clinics.

The smile line must also be recorded.

Photographs must be taken and recorded both while the patient is relaxed and while they are smiling.

Furthermore, while consulting with the patient, the assigned ceramist records the movement of the lips and the degree of left-right symmetry.

(How the lips move while speaking, the patient’s expressions, personal color, overall impression, and so on are all factors that can truly be understood only by meeting the patient in person!)

The person making the veneer needs to know all of these things to create a result as close as possible to the perfect veneer the patient wants.

We made this veneer using the Revenate Expert lineup, in which special coloring and additional ceramic porcelain are applied over a veneer milled from a ceramic block using a milling machine.

(When making a veneer for only one tooth, the high-end Revenate Master lineup should generally be used.

However, in this case, the teeth had been reduced quite extensively, and the surrounding veneers had relatively simple, single-tone colors, so we made it using Revenate Expert.)

There was a subtly different color...

It was not very noticeable to the naked eye, but the difference was slightly visible in photographs.

Even so, if we are going to do it, we should make it as perfect as possible!! This level of adjustment can be completed on the same day.

That is also possible because the ceramist who makes Revenate veneers works at the clinic with us, right?

This is the veneer after adjusting the color and bonding it in place.

The color was adjusted to the point that it could truly be described as almost perfect.

The overall tone of the teeth must be made similar, and the gradation must also be reproduced.

The shape needs to be attractive, and the texture—the most difficult aspect—must also be similar.

If the light reflection is too different, it will look like an artificial tooth.

And the patient...?

Naturally, they were extremely satisfied!!

In this way, from every angle, the new veneer blended with the veneers made at the other dental clinic.

The patient was very pleased that we could achieve a satisfying result by replacing only the one broken front-tooth veneer, without changing all six.

Even when smiling as at the beginning, doesn’t it look completely seamless?

This was a wonderful collaboration between the dentist, who carefully designed and refined the tooth, and the ceramist, who carefully observed and created it :)

And so, today’s Before & After comes to a neat conclusion.

When someone comes to us after a front-tooth veneer made at another dental clinic has broken, there are truly not many dental clinics that will make just one replacement veneer.

The reason almost always comes down to one thing: it is extremely difficult to make it the same color as the surrounding front-tooth veneers.

For dental clinics that work with outside dental laboratories, reproducing the color and texture at the same time is extremely difficult.

This ultimately leads to a process of persuading the patient to have all of the veneers remade...

We could also create a more attractive result by remaking all of the veneers, but it is true that this can be a significant burden from the patient’s perspective.

Some dental clinics also suggest changing to a crown because a veneer has broken.

That is not necessarily incorrect, but it does require additional tooth reduction, so it is understandable that patients may not want this option.
