What to Check at a Sinsa Station Dental Clinic Before Getting Professional Teeth Whitening: Price, Cost, and Reviews

The chaotic diary of opening the clinic has now become a thing of the past, and Rev Dental Clinic at Sinsa Station is gradually taking shape.

As long as I am here as a periodontist, I believe we will always be a clinic that provides excellent periodontal treatment and implant surgery. However, given our location, we also provide many treatments intended to improve our patients’ appearance.

We now have so many teeth-whitening patients that it would not be an exaggeration to call us a hub for teeth whitening in Gangnam.

I am not particularly fond of the title “teeth-whitening specialist dental clinic” (we are also very good at veneers, implants, and orthodontics, after all~), but at the same time, I sometimes wonder whether there is actually a dental clinic in Korea that specializes in teeth whitening....

Still, after starting teeth whitening somewhat by chance and continuing to provide the treatment, we accumulated know-how and eventually began investing heavily in equipment to build an advantage through our technology (??!!). Just as a dermatology clinic can provide high-quality skin treatments by installing good equipment, professional teeth-whitening treatment at a dental clinic requires good products, good equipment, and skilled staff.

Today’s topic is a checklist of things to check before receiving professional teeth-whitening treatment.

Does the dental clinic perform teeth whitening frequently?

Teeth whitening is more labor-intensive than you might think.

I also used to run a neighborhood dental clinic, but I think I saw only two or three teeth-whitening patients per month on average.

In a way, teeth whitening was a monthly event (?!), and almost one dedicated staff member handled all the teeth-whitening patients.

Now, I think we see about 100 times as many patients per month as before.

As a result, naturally, all of our staff members—the dental hygienists—have become highly skilled at teeth whitening.

From the basic scaling performed before teeth whitening, to applying a protective agent to the gums, carefully applying the whitening product, and replacing the whitening agent at each interval—we have a complete system in place! (Because our staff are experienced, the treatment time is also becoming shorter and the process is becoming increasingly optimized.)

The standing light-activation devices for teeth whitening that I showed in a previous post have increased from six to eight!

Teeth whitening takes about 1.5 hours per person. Most dental clinics are concerned about one patient occupying a dental chair for an hour and a half, but Rev Dental Clinic at Sinsa Station has plenty of chairs and whitening machines, so we can care for a sufficient number of patients.

We now appear so often in Naver reviews and Naver searches. . . .

You are not going to pay the same price to have your teeth whitened with a necklace-style light-activation device, are you???

I took this from a YouTube video about Osstem implants.

The product shown is called BeauTis Light S.

It was made for use at home. The only reason the setting is a dental clinic is because the video was filmed in a studio there.

It is a necklace-style light-activation device and is said to be portable.

Everything else is fine, but the light it emits is weak... Naturally, a product connected to a 220V power supply is superior.

As I say every time, if you whiten your teeth with that product, you are missing the opportunity to experience the maximum whitening effect.

(If you pay the same price to whiten your teeth with a necklace-style device, you are really losing out.)

As shown in the photo above, a standing light-activation device is the better option.

Because it is connected to a 220V power supply, it produces ample light power, allowing you to expect the maximum whitening effect.

Since each unit costs more than 2 million won, ordinary neighborhood dental clinics often find it burdensome to purchase even one.

So, how much does teeth whitening actually cost?

And what exactly do “one session,” “two sessions,” and “three sessions” of teeth whitening mean?

Teeth-whitening treatment generally proceeds through the following stages.

The tooth shade must be recorded before treatment.

In general, the tooth shade of most Koreans who have never undergone whitening is A3 to A3.5.

The larger the number, the darker the teeth.

Scaling is essential.

If calculus or plaque is present on the tooth surface, the teeth-whitening agent may not work properly, which can result in uneven whitening. That would be very upsetting!

After all the calculus has been removed, the teeth should be polished once with a polishing agent.

Simply put, you can think of it as applying toothpaste containing fine particles and using a rubber cup to clean the surface once. By creating a clean surface, we can first remove surface staining and create a tooth surface with a uniform condition.

The teeth-whitening agent is then applied in a thin, wide, and even layer over the teeth.

The price generally varies depending on which teeth-whitening agent is used.

In general, BeauTis products manufactured by Osstem Pharma are the most expensive, while the other product lines, such as w-gel, are similarly priced.

When Osstem launched the products, they were designed so that the BeauTis whitening agent and BeauTis light-activation device would work well together. Therefore, if you receive teeth-whitening treatment at Rev Dental Clinic at Sinsa Station, we naturally recommend the BeauTis whitening agent.

However, we also have a product called w-gel available for those who find the price burdensome.

(If you visit another dental clinic, be sure to ask in advance which whitening agent they use!)

When the whitening agent applied to the teeth is exposed to the light from the standing light-activation device, it breaks down and works to lighten and decolorize the teeth. After using the light-activation device for about 15 minutes, the agent no longer has any further effect. Therefore, the agent is removed, a new teeth-whitening agent is applied, and the light-activation device is used again!!!

Osstem BeauTis explains that this process should be performed three times in one day.

One or two applications produce too little of an effect, while more than three may cause tooth sensitivity or pain.

In any case, the teeth become lighter only when the whitening agent is freshly applied three times and the teeth are exposed to the light each time!

The price of teeth whitening is approximately 50,000 to 70,000 won per application.

Does the clinic provide a touch-up service after teeth whitening?

In the case of the patient shown above, you can see that the tooth shade became clearly about 1.5 shades lighter after approximately 1.5 hours of teeth-whitening treatment.

Of course, the patient was satisfied, but some patients want to undergo the treatment one more time.

Even with one additional treatment, the teeth may not become dramatically lighter, but there is still room for some improvement :) hahaha

Can teeth whitening be performed for life?

Does the dental clinic have alternatives available?

Once you start whitening your teeth, you may want to have it done again sooner than expected.

Having whiter teeth is a really pleasant experience. However, the tooth shade generally returns after about six months....

Eventually, you end up visiting the dental clinic again.

The problem is that because the teeth are already fairly light, there is a limit to how much lighter they can become even with additional whitening treatment. It seems that each tooth has an individual upper limit to how light it can become.

As a result, you will inevitably become increasingly interested in veneers, which are 0.1 mm ceramic restorations.

This means that teeth whitening and veneers end up becoming treatments with a certain connection.

Therefore, I recommend choosing a dental clinic where you can receive consultations about both teeth whitening and veneers.

I majored in periodontics, specializing in periodontal treatment and implants.

I actually studied gum whitening through procedures more extensively than teeth whitening. Hahaha

There does not seem to be a specific dental specialty devoted to teeth-whitening treatment. It is a relatively minor area of treatment in dentistry.

However, since we are located at Sinsa Station, many foreign patients also visit us for teeth whitening... Somehow, it feels as though we are becoming a hub for teeth whitening. Hahaha. I am happy when our patients smile and are satisfied.

Just as it feels good to see brighter, improved skin after receiving cosmetic skin treatment, seeing brighter teeth after teeth whitening will surely make you feel that receiving the treatment was a good decision!

Of course, adding thin veneers can produce a much better color and texture... However, many people are reluctant to alter their front teeth, so I thought you might want to try teeth whitening first. That is why I ended up writing this long, rambling post.
