The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore Part 1 – Recommended Guest Room with Marina Bay View: Review of the Wonderful Outdoor Pool, Lounge, and Excellent Breakfast Restaurant

Bali and Singapore was our second honeymoon-themed trip!

I previously introduced the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach as our first hotel.

This time, I’d like to introduce The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, one of Singapore’s most renowned hotels.

The night view from the 18th-floor outdoor pool at the JW Marriott Singapore was fantastic.

But there is an even more impressive and attractive hotel, which is the place I’ll be introducing today.

It is located even closer to Marina Bay than the JW Marriott Singapore.

It is known for its genuine quality, right?

Since it was close to the JW Marriott Singapore, we walked there—but this is definitely not a place you should walk to.

The road to the Ritz-Carlton Singapore lobby is uphill, so take a taxi whenever possible.

Given the considerable room rates, most guests arrive by taxi. Definitely don’t walk.

When you arrive at the grand entrance, a doorman opens the door, revealing a truly magnificent lobby.

Does that sculpture suspended in midair look somewhat familiar? Haha.

It is the same sculpture shown in the main image that appears when making a reservation on the Marriott Bonvoy website.

It is a white sculpture resembling a twisted pastry floating in the air, and it is incredibly impressive. :)

After entering the lobby, head to the right to find the lounge and concierge.

What you see above is the concierge desk! Since Singapore is hot, they provide plenty of cool water as soon as you arrive.

Returning to the lobby and going down one floor takes you to the outdoor pool and fitness center.

The entrance to the outdoor pool is this grand. The sculptures were truly impressive.

It rained on our first day, so we couldn’t use the outdoor pool.

This outdoor pool is a true celebration of clean, straight lines! What was interesting was that, even though it was raining fairly heavily, foreigners were enjoying the sunshine—or perhaps sunbathing—in the cabanas on both sides. Hahaha.

The pool looks absolutely first-rate on a bright day!

It was long enough for a proper swim and had a depth that was suitable for adults as well.

Aside from the heat, it was truly an excellent space that people of all ages could enjoy.

The children seemed to love it especially. Haha.

Going back up to the lobby and heading left this time, you’ll find the restaurant and bakery.

This area is also quite a landmark. It is a truly impressive space with an exceptionally high ceiling.

However, breakfast is not complimentary; you have to pay for it. (The Ritz-Carlton does not provide Marriott Bonvoy tier benefits.)

The whole cakes looked delicious, and their prices were more reasonable than I expected.

I thought they were probably priced around the same as at Lotte Hotel Seoul. They looked really delicious!

They were also very serious about their smaller bakery items.

The place was filled with one tempting item after another...

The prices weren’t particularly expensive compared with Seoul, either.

The bakery area itself was practically a work of art.

The beautiful interior made me feel so good. Hahaha.

Even the bakery items were arranged in orderly rows and columns, which felt very Singaporean indeed. Hahaha.

Most of the restaurant guests were white. I remember being surprised that there were fewer Asians than I expected.

Following the corridor alongside this restaurant and heading out, you’ll arrive at Marina Square.

It does feel a little as if you’ve suddenly returned to reality, but it is a mall where you can meet local residents. Hahaha.

Also, if you make a reservation in advance, you can receive a premium van service once a day—at least, I heard it used to be a Mercedes S-Class van...!

They will take you to Marina Square, Marina Bay Sands, or wherever you would like to go. However, the service is available for one-way trips only!

One king bed, Marina Bay view, Guest Room

The room where I stayed for three nights and four days was a Guest Room with a Marina Bay view.

As you can probably tell from the photos, it had an excellent view with a very clear sight of Marina Bay.

And the room was bigger than expected for two people! I found it more than sufficient.

The room rate is around KRW 900,000 on weekday evenings and is somewhat higher on weekends.

Since the hotel does not follow Marriott Bonvoy tier benefits, breakfast is not included.

You have to pay separately for breakfast, and the Ritz-Carlton’s executive lounge dining is well known, so that also costs extra if you want to enjoy it.

In other words, you need to spend around KRW 1.3–1.5 million per night to enjoy the hotel properly...

Let’s follow the luxurious yellow-gold corridor.

The rooms with Marina Bay views are on the left. We were assigned the 14th floor~

This is the condition of our room, photographed as soon as we entered.

The room condition was truly excellent—better than expected.

It was spacious enough to have an additional table and sofa.

For reference, I was standing at the entrance in this photo, and there was also a closet on the left for storing our suitcases!

Ritz-Carlton beds are famous for being large and comfortable.

When the two of us lay down, it felt as if two more people could fit between us.

The subtle yellow-gold color adds another touch of luxury.

When you lie on the bed, the TV is directly in view.

On the left, you can see the luggage room with the closet I mentioned earlier.

Turning your head, the Marina Bay view unfolds beyond the desk.

Can you tell where the bathroom is? Haha.

Of course, we had to open the minibar, too.

It isn’t exactly a minibar where you could say nothing is missing, but there were a few items good enough to enjoy one or two for the occasion.

Still, the prices are quite high, so be careful. Hahaha.

The Marina Bay view during the day was lovely.

I heard that a racing track was going to be built below.

The Marina Bay view is impressive during the day, but even more beautiful at night.

Isn’t this what people come to Singapore to see? Haha.

The view outside from inside the hotel is completely peaceful.

The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore is truly a hotel with an excellent view!

Oh, and the bathroom also has a truly remarkable feel...

It was a little disappointing that there was only one sink, but the bathroom was extremely luxurious and elegant.

I want to make my bathroom at home like this...

The most eye-catching feature is undoubtedly the bathtub overlooking Marina Bay.

It is a somewhat older hotel, but they managed to create such a stylish bathtub.

There was no way I could resist taking a half-body bath, right? Haha.

The shower and toilet are in separate, enclosed spaces.

The amenities are exclusive to the Ritz-Carlton: Diptyque Philosykos.

The fig scent is wonderful, and one distinctive feature is that the fragrance lingers for quite a while after washing your hair. :)

There were plenty of Diptyque amenities beside the sink and next to the bathtub.

They smell good and the fragrance lasts, while their rinsability and spreadability were both quite good.

I even get excited thinking about seeing these little products whenever I visit the Ritz-Carlton...? Hahaha.

Oh, and don’t get too attached to them. You will be charged if you take them home. It’s cheaper to buy them outside.

The Ritz-Carlton Singapore Lounge

The lounge is also a truly elegant and beautiful space.

It has a high ceiling and is filled with beautiful furniture!!

We ordered the set menu for one person and added one more à la carte item.

That’s when we received this bread before the meal. It was delicious, as expected!

We enjoyed these delicious plates generously.

I don’t remember the exact names, but I think the total came to around KRW 200,000.

Naturally, it should be delicious, right? Hahaha. I think it is worth trying at least once.

This was the hotel I most wanted to visit before going to Singapore.

Of course, I knew it was expensive and luxurious, but it is one of the finest Ritz-Carlton hotels in the world, so I was extremely curious about it.

Raffles was even more expensive and beyond my budget... Haha. So we chose the JW Marriott and this hotel in Singapore!

To give you the conclusion first, this was a hotel with an exceptionally high level of satisfaction.

It is the kind of hotel I think I would return to even if I came back. The hotel itself is of a very high standard, and there is plenty of food and dining content to enjoy. :)

*** However, elite-qualifying nights are not credited. They are not included in the stay.... It is one of the few Ritz-Carlton properties that does not credit elite-qualifying nights. Likewise, Marriott Bonvoy points are not awarded. :'( Please keep this in mind before you visit!

As a result, I became a complete Ritz-Carlton enthusiast and even visited one in Osaka this time.
