Baekwonjang rating ★★★★☆
Hello.
This is Baekwonjang’s food guide.
It’s been a while since I introduced a Samgakji restaurant.
It’s a nostalgic snack bar. A place said to have tasty rabokki and soup tteokbokki!
Yangyang Bunsik cafe
I happened to come across this place by chance, and on a rainy day I went there with my wife and our first child in a stroller.
On the way back, it suddenly poured down with rain.. and that also became a memory.. ^^

Location: 1F, 10 Itaewon-ro 4-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
Parking: None.
It’s marked on Naver Map like a green space, but if you actually go there, you know it’s the road leading up to the Ministry of National Defense..?
If you keep walking up a bit farther, maybe you’ll run into the president ㅎㅎㅎ
It’s a shop located on the corner if you go a little way up from the main road on Itaewon-ro.

This snack bar uses a lovely yellow as its signature color.
It’s on a corner, and somehow.. it feels like the kind of snack bar I used to see a lot when I was young~ ㅎㅎ

The inside isn’t very large, but there are 3–4 tables and more than 10 seats where you can sit.
The shop has a cozy size, which somehow makes it feel even more endearing.. precious.

This is the Yangyang Bunsik CAFE menu.
They offer a wide variety of dishes.
If you look at the wall, you’ll see poster-like listings of many currently popular menu items as well.
Since the Ministry of National Defense is nearby, I wondered if there would be many middle-aged male customers?
So it also feels a bit distinctive that there are many hangover-friendly menu items.
You can also have drinks at reasonable prices that aren’t too expensive~
Time to eat!!!

Served in that nostalgic green plastic bowl that every Korean surely knows,
a full spread of snack-bar dishes came out.
Originally I went because I wanted kimchi fried rice and rabokki, but for our little child, I also ordered one tuna bomb rice ball.
The seaweed + rice combination is something I’m sure every child in Korea loves, right? ㅎ.ㅎ

Kimchi Fried Rice (8,500 won)
The price really makes you feel how much inflation has gone up.. but!
Still, it’s a fairly generous portion.
Because it’s a snack-bar-style fried rice, it isn’t stir-fried down as thoroughly as Chinese fried rice~!
Still, it’s tasty enough, and it has a healthy-feeling kimchi fried rice flavor.

As you can see from the menu board, if you want, you can add a fried egg or mozzarella cheese and enjoy it as a customized dish :)

Bomb Rice Ball - Tuna (3,000 won)
This is a dish for our 1-year-old daughter, who can’t eat spicy food.
There’s so much seaweed that its simply black color is charming... the visual is great!

There was surprisingly a very generous amount of tuna inside ^^
It’s the kind of honest snack bar that doesn’t skimp on ingredients to provide a delicious meal :)

Rabokki (8,500 won)
Actually, this was the star of today.
I came because I wanted to eat rabokki...
It may look a little small at first glance, but there’s actually quite a generous amount of noodles in it.

Isn’t the appeal of rabokki that the slightly sweet and savory noodles come into your mouth all at once? ㅎㅎㅎ
It delivers that kind of satisfying taste.
The fried dumpling doesn’t have anything particularly special inside. Maybe just a bit of added variety...
What was disappointing was that although the fish cake was visible, there were only two pieces of rice cake inside....
That was the biggest reason for deducting points. . .

I took a photo of the meal together with the cola provided through the review event.
Personally, I think it was a tasty and filling meal.
I really enjoyed it today as well.!!!
Conclusion
You may not go out of your way to come here, but if you’re nearby, it’s worth stopping by once!
I didn’t know there was a snack bar in the neighborhood that gives off such a wholesome feel.
Personally, my favorite snack-bar food is tteok-kkochi, and aside from that, it had just about everything I wanted :)
The rabokki was the best, and the rice ball was tasty and savory because it was packed with plenty of ingredients.
The kimchi fried rice was decent and ordinary. It seems like a good place to stop by and enjoy when it crosses your mind once in a while.

If you work nearby, I think you would naturally know this place.
There’s the Ministry of National Defense.. and the Defense Convention Center too~ There are probably quite a lot of people working around here.
Also, across the street is the War Memorial of Korea!
For families out on a casual outing, it might be nice to stop by and have some snack-bar food while reminiscing.
That’s it for this neighborhood restaurant review. . .
Thank you for reading my homemade, no-paid-review restaurant post today as well,
I’ll always do my best to be a restaurant coordinator you’ll want to visit. :)

Thank you.!!
