[The Westin Josun Seoul] Aria - Marriott Bonvoy Shinhan Card Breakfast Task. Breakfast with Samsung Pay for 20,000 KRW, plus valet service~

A little while ago, I posted a review of Rubrica at The Westin Josun Seoul,

a place I thought should have been even tastier than I expected....

Anyway, this time I got up early in the morning(!?) to complete the breakfast task for the Marriott Bonvoy Shinhan Card and visited Aria.

After handing the car over for valet parking, go down one floor and you’ll find Aria.

This was my first time photographing The Westin Josun Seoul from this angle~

After valet parking, I head in.

Hwangudan is also a popular photo spot, so newlyweds were there taking wedding photos.

I revisited W Josun Seoul for the first time in a week.

It seems like it has been a 5-star hotel for over 50 years.

Since Aria’s breakfast is so good, I keep coming back!

Interior

I’ve been to Aria many times, so I’ll skip the introduction~

Breakfast costs 70,000 KRW per person. Of course, if you have the Shinhan Card Marriott Bonvoy The Best card, you can use the 50,000 KRW breakfast coupon and enjoy it for 20,000 KRW!

I’ve excerpted the relevant details,

and there are a few conditions you need to meet.

First of all, you need at least 300,000 KRW in prior-month spending. (Overseas spending also counts.)

The coupon can only be used once per day. You can’t use two coupons at once for two people with one card.

That’s why I planned for a solo visit.

The annual usage period is 1/1 to 12/31, so if you get the card in your first year, it’s best to use both coupons no matter what.

Since it was a Saturday morning, there were quite a lot of guests.

They operate until 10:00, and I visited around 9:00!

Just say, “I’m here alone!” and go in confidently. ^^

In fact, the Westin brand offers breakfast for free to Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above, so if you’re staying at the hotel, you can get breakfast at no charge. (Actually, most Marriott hotels in Korea do this too—except Josun Palace..) Because of that, it’s also true that it can be hard to use the breakfast task coupon.

At JW Marriott Jeju, the breakfast coupon used to work for lunch and dinner as well as breakfast, but that was discontinued, so now this coupon really only works when you want to get a discounted breakfast..

Meal starts!!!

Please just enjoy looking through the menu lineup.

The first corner I checked was the Western section.

You could call it a brunch-style selection—Egg Benedict, bacon, ham, sausages, and more were being served.

Scrambled eggs were available, and the sausages were piled up (!?)

They say breakfast is the preparation stage for lunch and dinner, so it seemed like they were making everything in advance like this.

There were also pancakes, waffles, and French toast as brunch items.

The French toast was said to be especially famous, and personally I really enjoyed it. Highly recommended~

In the next corner, there were Korean side dishes and light Chinese dishes.

The beef bulgogi was good, and the mapo tofu and dim sum were tasty too!

The dim sum area was empty when I went, so I couldn’t take a photo ㅠㅠ Four kinds of dim sum were being served.

In the separate Korean section, food was served in a rice-and-side-dish style like this.

There were some quite premium items such as seaweed soup and abalone porridge, and side dishes like white kimchi and Josun Hotel kimchi were also neatly displayed.

It’s not a corner just for Koreans, after all~

Right next to it, salads were being served. There were smoked salmon, seafood salad, and more... plus several kinds of ham!

And right next to that, there were even fresh fruit juices... six kinds in total.

I only tried the orange juice, but it was a 100% fresh fruit juice made by blending real oranges, and it was really, really delicious!

This was my first plate.

I thought the salmon was smoked salmon, but it tasted more like raw salmon sashimi and looked no different from what I expected—other than that.

Of course, it was delicious.

By the way, if you drink a single glass of fresh orange juice in a lounge, it would probably cost at least 20,000 KRW. (There’s also the seat charge, of course...)

When I went to get my second plate, I saw yogurt and toppings that would go well on top of it.

I really liked that there were more options than I expected.

The fruit quality was surprisingly good... I mainly ate grapes and gold kiwis, and they were truly excellent!

A few kinds of cheese were also laid out. The portions may have looked small, but there weren’t just a few varieties.

If you go toward the entrance, there’s the famous bakery corner.

Pretzels, bacon, and white bread to eat with Isigny butter and various jams... everything looked really fresh, which was great.

Next to it were a few elegant breads that could easily be sold at the Josun Hotel bakery.

As you’ll know once you try it, the taste is really good.

Pastries topped with fresh fruit on top... muffins, pain au chocolat, croissants, and more~~

They weren’t especially crispy, but the ingredients were good and they tasted great.

Compared with the first plate, it might look like there isn’t much going on ㅎㅎ

But I brought back bakery items, yogurt, and fruit together!

Also, there’s a coffee corner where you can order an iced latte.

As expected from a 5-star hotel, the coffee was clean and smooth, which was nice.

If you drink it in the lounge, this one would probably cost 20,000 KRW too..

I paid using Samsung Pay with the 'Shinhan Card Marriott Bonvoy The Best' card.

Even without the physical card, there was no issue paying at W Josun Seoul.

I used the breakfast coupon for a breakfast that cost 70,000 KRW per person, and only paid 20,000 KRW.

Including valet parking, this is a review of coming home after using over 100,000 KRW worth of value for 20,000 KRW...

I really, really ate well today as well.!!!

Conclusion

The most efficient solo breakfast...

This is not a meal you can eat for 20,000 KRW.

Honestly, even for Platinum tier members, this breakfast was so good that it felt too nice to be given for free...

Compared to dinner, there may be fewer items like meat, sashimi, or king crab, but most of the dishes were carefully prepared and tasted quite good...

Just a single glass of fresh fruit juice or an iced latte would already cost 20,000 KRW~

In that sense, the 20,000 KRW price was more than reasonable... and most of the breakfast dishes tasted really good.

If you have time, I think there’s nothing better than going twice a year.

The value is so good it would be hard to give it fewer than 10 stars. Come to think of it, even for the 20,000 KRW payment, you do have to use the Shinhan Card Marriott Bonvoy The Best card, but you still earn points....!

I’m guessing the hotel will also process it, and you’ll likely get special rewards from the payment card too. Then the effective cost could be less than 20,000 KRW...

Since the JW Marriott Jeju breakfast coupon can no longer be used for lunch or dinner, it seems even better for using at W Josun Seoul or W Josun Busan to get a discount on breakfast.

Since the coupon can only be used twice between 1/1 and 12/31, I’d like to say you should definitely use it when you get the chance ^^
