This is Baek, director of Reve Dental Clinic in Sinsa Station, with another food review.

Whenever I go out to eat with my toddler, I always end up wondering where to go. If the kid starts crying and fussing... my appetite just disappears.....

At times like that, the place that comes to mind is Outback, just a 5-minute drive from home.

Outback Steakhouse Yongsan I'PARK Mall Branch

Rather than introducing this branch because it has anything especially unique, I’m going to write about my experience using Outback Boomerang Membership’s "priority admission pass" today. Outback was a good place to eat cheaply 20 years ago too, wasn’t it? I’ll also tell you how to eat there for less lol

Location: 7th floor, 55 Hangang-daero 23-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Parking: 2 hours of free parking available.

One of the strengths of the Yongsan I'PARK Mall branch is, of course, how easy parking is. As long as there aren’t truly too many people, you can park anyway! If you use Outback, you get 2 hours of free parking.

Exterior

This is the Outback Yongsan Station branch that I’m so fond of. It’s on the 7th floor, but it’s oddly hard to find lol. You can find it by taking the escalator inside I'PARK Mall and going up, or by going up to the 7th floor of any building, stepping outside, and then going back in.

Since it’s autumn now, they were running a lot of promotions like this, but I didn’t know there was a "Jurassic Coupon." They were doing a crazy promotion: 10,000 won off for orders over 50,000 won, and 20,000 won off for orders over 100,000 won...

Interior

One advantage of this branch is that if you get a window seat, you can enjoy a view looking down over Yongsan Station! The night view is pretty nice too. If you think back to what the area in front of Yongsan Station was like 20 years ago... it’s an unbelievable transformation.

Outback Boomerang Membership

Outback Steakhouse has a Boomerang Membership, and based on the previous year’s spending, you’re given one of four tiers. Among these, Gold and Platinum come with a priority admission pass.

You can check the benefits for each tier in the app, but Gold and Platinum generally don’t differ much in content; the main difference is the number of coupons. Since there’s a limit to how many coupons you can use per visit anyway, if you go 4–5 times a year, aim for "Gold," and if you go more often than that, aim for "Platinum." (There’s a Coconut Shrimp TO GO coupon, but it can’t be used with other discount coupons, so it’s really hard to use ㅠㅠ)

If you get Gold or higher, you receive a free menu coupon every quarter. And every time you visit, you end up using either a 10,000 won discount coupon or a 20,000 won steak discount coupon. Also, you’ll always get one free drink (you know soda is refillable, right?) and you’ll use the priority admission pass too.

The priority admission pass lets you go in first regardless of the waiting line. For us with a toddler, this is such an incredibly useful benefit.

(Sometimes they don’t deduct it though..)

There’s no way my wife and I can finish a 1 kg Porterhouse by ourselves..... So first we ordered a Tuwumba Pasta...

We ordered the Queensland Ribeye with "Black Label." You really should order the one with Black Label. If you choose something else just because it’s a little cheaper, the steak will be thinner and less flavorful, and you’ll be disappointed...

Then we added 2,000 won to change the side to the Garlic Shrimp Plate, and changed the starter to a Garden Salad with 3 tenders on top. haha

For drinks, let’s go with Orange Ade~~~

Meal starts!!!

The Bushman Bread is always delicious. Just eat one piece well~~~ Don’t take photos holding a knife. That feels so "young-40s"~~

Share the orange ade nicely between the two of you, and keep refilling the soda. (It’s free anyway since I’m Gold tier!)

A salad that’s delicious no matter when you eat it. The combination of the Garden Salad’s honey mustard sauce and the tenders is always lovely ^^ The kid eats it well and likes it too~~~

After waiting about 10 minutes, the main dishes came out together!

Queensland Ribeye 380g (77,000 won)

This is a nicely medium-cooked Queensland Ribeye steak. Definitely get the Black Label version.. I used to order the 40,000–50,000 won steaks countless times, but after trying this once, I never went back to the cheaper ones. Since you get 2 sides anyway, and the salad and starter are included, this is better.

The 5-piece Garlic Shrimp Plate we got by adding 2,000 won on top was very thoughtful because the shrimp shells were already prepared, so you can eat them without peeling them by hand. The meat is plump and tastes great!

Tuwumba Pasta (26,900 won)

I think there’s no one who doesn’t know how this pasta tastes. haha It’s always rich and delicious... If you ask for extra sauce and pour more on, it’s even easier to enjoy.

I was trying to take photos of the meat, but the kid was acting up, so I took a photo of the baby too..... Anyway, you absolutely need to remember that the Black Label steak is delicious!!!

If you’re someone who spends smartly, when you see Artisée, take out your Amex card!

At the end of the 7th-floor food court, on the same floor as Outback, there’s Artisée. If you go with the Hyundai Amex Platinum card (and other Amex cards I have), they give you one free S-size iced Americano when you order a made beverage.

The iced cafe latte in Grande size was 6,100 won, and the iced Americano in Petit size was 4,900 won.

If you go home with coffee in hand, it feels very happy ^^

We ate really, really well again today.!!!

Conclusion

The fun part about going to Outback is calculating how cheaply you got to eat. When I looked at the receipt for today’s order,

Queensland Ribeye (77,000 won) + Garden Salad & 3 Chicken Fingers (8,700 won) + Garlic Shrimp Plate (2,000 won) + Tuwumba Pasta (26,900 won) + Fruit Ade (6,700 won) = 121,300 won.

Using the 10,000 won Boomerang discount coupon, the free drink coupon worth 6,700 won, and an additional 15% SKT discount from the coupon I received as Gold tier, we ate for 88,910 won.

What was a little disappointing, though, was that I didn’t know there was something called the Jurassic Coupon !!!!! If I had ordered over 100,000 won, the Jurassic Coupon would have given a 20,000 won discount. And if I had used Bimage with an Amex card such as the Hyundai Amex Platinum, it would have been equivalent to getting a 30,000 won discount, right? haha Then we probably would have eaten for around 60,000 won~~~

Outback is unexpectedly a place where you can enjoy dining out comfortably. You can have family gatherings without 부담, and even if you have a child, the staff are the kind who welcome you even more warmly!! So I think we go about once every quarter. If you make 4 visits a year and spend over 500,000 won... you can become Gold tier, and when you use the priority admission pass, you can enter first through the fast track no matter how many teams are waiting. I’m leaving this post in hopes that you’ll consider giving them a bit of loyalty once.
