[The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo] The Standard for a Classic High-End Hotel. A review of a Roppongi hotel with a great skyline view from the window, plus the pool, lounge, and more.

This is Dr. Baek, the dentist behind Reb Dental Clinic, a mecca for teeth whitening near Sinsa Station.

After falling deeply in love with the charm of The Ritz-Carlton in Singapore, I’ve been visiting Ritz-Carlton properties almost like I’m checking them off one by one.

This time, here is my review of The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, which I visited in March this year, 2026.

From Mid-Town, Roppongi, Azabudai Hills, and Toranomon Hills, which are the epitome of an affluent neighborhood...

Among them, I’d like to introduce The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, a high-end hotel located in Roppongi.

The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo

Tokyo has truly so many hotels of excellent quality.

Starting with Bvlgari Tokyo, which I’ll write about later in a review... Aman, Janu, Four Seasons, EDITION, Park Hyatt, and more...

Each hotel is truly a work of art.

Since I’ve been making my way through Marriott hotels all over the place,

I stepped things up a bit after my last stay at Conrad Tokyo..!..

Whether viewed at night or during the day, it is located in Tokyo Midtown, the ultimate expression of a modern city.

You could simply say it’s in Roppongi. Haha.

It’s really... high-end.

The weather in Tokyo in March is so nice.

From the entrance, it feels reminiscent of the entrance to The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka!! The black carpet at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo... adds even more excitement for a high-end hotel.

At the entrance, there’s a proud red label boasting that there is a Michelin 1-star restaurant...!

And another proud plaque showing that it is listed among Forbes’ Finest Properties.

For reference, the Michelin 1-star restaurant is Heritage by Kei Kobayashi, which you can find on the lobby floor.

Unfortunately, it was closed on the day I stayed, so I couldn’t go... It was a shame.

For reference, there are several other restaurants as well, so if you get the chance, be sure to visit!!

The view of the lobby that unfolds as soon as you step out of the elevator is truly overwhelming.

The very high ceiling... and the striking works hanging on the wall.....

Come to think of it, the piece on the right is a famous one!!!!! I just can’t remember the artist’s name ㅠㅠㅠ

There must be a lounge in the lobby, right?

Think of it as a suspended Grand Hyatt Seoul lounge.. haha.

On the left side of the lounge is a beautiful grand piano, and on the right, many seats are nearly full.

The plants placed here and there add a refined touch of luxury.

1 King Bed, Skyline View, Guest Room

The room I stayed in was a standard room with a skyline view.

It was on the 49th floor... and the view was obviously going to be stunning without even saying it.

The room rate is roughly 1.4 million won.

I have Titanium status, so I used a NUA, but I didn’t get an upgrade. I guess I was being too greedy... haha.

The door opens~ and in you come~

The moment I switched on the lights, it had exactly the same atmosphere I felt at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka!

The bathroom on the left is lovely, and the living space is farther in.

If you walk in a little farther, you can see the main room.

Even though it must be about 20 years old... does the room condition really need to be this good? ^^;

You can see a spacious king bed, a desk where you can do some work, and a table by the window that’s perfect for sitting and chatting casually.

I can see the air purifier below... haha. It seems like there’s one in every room.

I’ve always loved The Ritz-Carlton beds.

For some reason, I sleep better in them. Haha. I even asked ChatGPT how to buy this bed....... haha.

Inside the surprisingly large closet, there was space for simple storage.

I was reminded once again that my childhood idea that Japanese hotel rooms are small was wrong~~

The window view is incredible.

It was called a skyline view, but the 49th-floor view doesn’t have to envy most observation decks at all. Absolutely amazing.....

The weather was clear and crisp, so I could see far into the distance...

I envy Tokyo for being an endless flat plain ^^ There’s more greenery than I expected too, and I really thought it was a fantastic city.

It’s a gorgeous view even at night. Haha.

Seeing it again makes me want to go back..

There was some kind of welcome cookie. The taste was just okay.

It was fun buying various things at night and eating them. Haha. Since it was Midtown, it was easy to pick up all sorts of delicious things. Haha.

Water is provided unlimitedly!

There was also capsule coffee, so I made iced Americano and drank it.

The drinks are truly packed full, but the prices are surprisingly high. Haha.

My wife accidentally drank that expensive water—just don’t tell anyone. It was 8,000 won. Haha.

In Japan, there are so many great convenience stores nearby that I don’t end up using the minibar much.

A great hotel is a joy to explore through its bathroom.

Even the bathroom feels like it could be its own small hotel room...

On the far left is the bathtub, the left compartment is the toilet, and the right compartment is the shower room.

The bathtub is large enough for a half-body soak... and as expected, the toilet area is nicely separated by a partition.

The shower-room amenities are Diptyque Philosykos, which I always love and use generously.

The scent is something that... I really always remember, and I like it so much no matter when I use it~~

You know, right? Good hotels have two sinks.

There are two sinks with the exact same design~~

From disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste to cotton swabs, cotton pads, combs, and more, everything is neatly organized.

There is also Diptyque Philosykos body lotion, so feel free to use plenty.

If you take it with you... you’ll probably be charged for it. In Singapore, I remember it was about 80,000 won per bottle.. haha.

Pool and Sauna

I couldn’t not go to the pool, right?

You’re not really supposed to take photos in the locker room... but there wasn’t a single person there..

The clean wooden feel is excellent.

Although the amenities were not Diptyque, there was nothing lacking in this dressing area that felt almost like a beauty salon.. haha.

It seems Japanese people are quite stylish, so they must use lots of wax and spray and such.

Among them, I can see ESPA products... I should have used those.. I tried them this time at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto and they were nice..

Well... the shower room is neat and tidy. It has Diptyque products.

Toothbrushes, razors, mouthwash, and other amenities are also prepared in generous~~~~~~ amounts.

It’s luxury itself.

On the other hand, the sauna is also a real highlight here.

There are even chairs, so it’s really nice for spending time alone. A place to think about how to do dentistry well...

The pool looked a bit dated, but it had perfect facilities.

There was one Japanese family with a child... and one elderly woman who seemed to be a membership member.

The takeaway is that the couple could swim as much as they wanted, to their heart’s content.

With the gorgeous skyline view in the background no matter where I took a photo,

sitting on the bed and chatting and thinking about random things with my wife was truly happy.

I’ve fallen deeply in love with the Ritz-Carlton brand, and this has already become my fourth visit.

From the world-famous property in Singapore, to Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve and one of only four in Asia.

And after Osaka, now Tokyo!! Next is Kyoto.

It had an atmosphere quite similar to Osaka, and the service was so excellent that it left me feeling very happy.

The bedding is beyond words... and the Midtown shopping area you can reach by going downstairs is also clean and nice.

Because the weather was so good, I remember walking from Roppongi to Azabudai Hills and Toranomon Hills.

It’s a fantastic location where you can wander around affluent neighborhoods to your heart’s content :)

When it comes to The Ritz-Carlton, you can’t leave out the Club Lounge, right?
