How much brighter does teeth whitening make your teeth? Our Lev Dental Clinic has been open for one year, and our cumulative number of teeth whitening procedures has surpassed 20,000. The question I hear most often is: just how much whiter do teeth get after whitening?

The analogy I use most often is:

In general, many Koreans are shades A3 to A3.5. I have truly seen thousands of people, and A3 or A3.5 is really the majority. From what visitors tell us, A1 is usually considered white teeth, and reaching A2 is enough to feel satisfied.

But in reality, tooth color is hard to grasp unless you compare it directly with a shade guide...

Since nobody seemed to be posting anything actually helpful, we at Lev Dental Clinic near Sinsa Station do a lot of whitening... so I decided to make this post.

If A1 through A4 are lined up in order, the difference may not look that large. But when you compare A1 and A2, or A2 and A3.5, you can really feel that the difference is quite significant.

Usually, when teeth go from A3.5 to A2, or from A2 to A1, people think, "Wow, the whitening went really well!!"

Still, you're probably curious about what actual patients end up looking like, right? So I’ll show you a few daily examples. I want to show you, without exaggeration, the results of a few patients who came in and received teeth whitening today. Please think of these as real cases in response to the question, "How much brighter do teeth get with whitening?"

It seems that teeth whitening works better at a younger age. As we age, the degree of tooth hardening increases, so whitening seems to be a bit less effective. And as I said, teeth whitening is similar to cosmetic skin treatments; the results vary widely from person to person.

This patient was receiving teeth whitening for the first time, and their shade was A3.

After one day of three whitening sessions using Osstem Beautis at our Lev Dental Clinic, it seems to have brightened to about A2 to A1.5. Looking at it again now, I think if they also had gum whitening, they could find a brighter-looking gum line.

What about a woman in her 30s? The teeth have a relatively even color and no white spots or brown spots, so I think this is a good environment for teeth whitening.

It was measured at around A3. This patient had no prior whitening experience, and most Koreans really fall into the A3 to A3.5 range. I have also seen many foreigners, and white and Black patients seemed to have brighter teeth. It was interesting.

In reality, after whitening, teeth often look more transparent and shinier, so the results are often even more satisfying.

Our clinic also sees many international patients, including Japanese and Chinese patients. That may be because we can provide Japanese and Chinese interpretation, and many of our dentists are fluent in English.

In this case, there was quite a bit of tartar and staining, and if scaling and pumice are done properly, the teeth can become quite clean.

In this case, it was A3.5.. The canines are somewhat darker, right? As I mentioned earlier, even reaching A2 counts as a success.

White spots can become more noticeable after whitening, but they can be removed using Icon resin. I’ll post about Icon resin, so please search for it and take a look.

This level alone can be quite satisfying when you see it in real life.

If someone has already tried whitening before, the dramatic effect is often limited because the teeth have already become somewhat brighter. That’s because teeth whitening definitely has limits depending on each person's teeth. Still, at Lev Dental Clinic near Sinsa Station, we carefully follow the manual and work hard on whitening!

In reality, they do not look that dark... First, we remove the tartar and carefully perform surface polishing using pumice.
