I’m Baek Won-seon, the chief director of Rev Dental Clinic,

Today, I’d like to introduce Revneate, our laminate treatment at Rev Dental Clinic.

This is the most basic lineup, Basic,

and it is the standard lineup usually recommended for people who want their teeth to look whiter and more even.

I don’t like my teeth looking yellow.

I’ve had teeth whitening several times, but I came because I wanted them even whiter.

The teeth were relatively well aligned, but the person was concerned about the yellowish color of the teeth.

At our Sinsa Station Rev Dental Clinic, we do so much teeth whitening that many people come in worrying because they still aren’t satisfied even after whitening. haha

The shade is roughly around A3 to A3.5.

This is about average for people in Korea. (But even after whitening, if the shade is still around A3, it is dark.)

When you look at the upper and lower teeth separately, the alignment is not bad.

But you can see that the lower teeth are slightly crowded, right? (Actually, there are many people like this..)

In cases like this, a small amount of tooth reduction is needed. Minimal-prep laminate!!

Before starting laminate treatment, it is very important to check the tooth alignment and the bite, meaning where the teeth contact when the lower jaw moves!!

If you look closely, the right photo is relatively even, but in the left photo you can see that the lower teeth are outside the upper teeth.

This is called a crossbite, and in cases of crossbite, a small amount of tooth reduction is needed so that the upper teeth can cover the lower teeth.

A facial photo must be taken!

We need to check the line of the lips when smiling, the angle of the nose, the position of the eyes, and so on.

Unfortunately, the smile is a little awkward, but fortunately the bite does not tilt much when smiling.

The midline is roughly aligned, but the lower jaw is slightly shifted to the right.

Minimal-prep laminate

A little more shaping than no-prep: about +0.5 mm

If we say we are shaping the teeth, it may not be easy to picture exactly how much.

Roughly this much.

It means smoothing and shaping the outer surface of the teeth, and rounding the edges of the teeth.

If there are special considerations, such as improving a crossbite, reducing crowding, or shifting the midline, then those areas will be reduced a little more than the others.

(No-prep laminate seems to be more suitable for people whose tooth alignment is almost perfect, or for those whose teeth are actually spaced apart.)

This is how much the teeth are shaped. (This is the point patients are most curious about~)

The patient wanted the tooth alignment to be as naturally even as possible -> reduced the crowded lower teeth

Wanted to improve the crossbite -> reduced the areas that were in reverse bite

If you are reading my post, you are probably someone who is worried about yellow teeth and looking for a laminate clinic.

First! I recommend trying teeth whitening. Usually, unless your teeth are extremely yellow, you can improve them to around A2. Try it 2–3 times, and if you still aren’t satisfied, then consider laminate treatment.

Of course, using your natural teeth as they are is the healthiest way to use them.

However, after tooth shaping within less than the average enamel thickness of 0.5 mm, laminate treatment can be done without having a major impact on dental health.

Also, adults often have teeth that are worn down or chipped, and for people like this, covering the surface with laminates can actually help protect the teeth.

(Even for people whose teeth are worn down or chipped by about 0.5 mm, most do not even realize those areas are there because the amount is so small.)
