[Park Hyatt Kyoto] Kyoto Bistro — Delicious Western-Style Food and a Cocktail at a Reasonable Price Near Kiyomizudera

Hello.

I’m Dr. Baek from Rev Dental, where to get teeth whitening near Sinsa Station.

This is probably the last post from my Kyoto trip.

On the way down after visiting Kiyomizudera, if you turn right once, you’ll come across this wonderful hotel!

Today, I’d like to introduce a great restaurant located on the first floor of Park Hyatt Kyoto.

Some of you might wonder, “You went all the way to Kyoto, and you ate Western food on the way down from Kiyomizudera?”

But if you’re curious, like me, about looking around Park Hyatt Kyoto, or if this is your nth visit to Kyoto, I recommend stopping by.

It’s a place where you can enjoy Western-style food and cocktails at quite reasonable prices.

The atmosphere was so impressive from the entrance that it felt like you weren’t supposed to go in unless you were staying at the hotel.

Park Hyatt Kyoto looks as though it was created by renovating the home of an old aristocratic family, much like The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto.

At first, I thought it looked a little intimidating, so I only took pictures at the entrance. Haha.

But just muster up the courage and go in, even if there’s someone at the entrance. Haha.

In the center of the U-shaped building, there is a beautiful Japanese garden.

The weather was so nice, and the atmosphere was so bright and lovely that I fell in love with Park Hyatt Kyoto as soon as I entered.

I could only think, “I hope I can stay here next time...”

Kyoto is practically a mecca for high-end hotels.

If you go in on the right, you’ll find KYOTO BISTRO right away.

There were many Western guests, and the restaurant was already full even though it was still relatively early in the evening!

The interior had a neat, clean atmosphere.

They also sold sandwiches and simple desserts that were suitable for takeout.

It had an open kitchen.

It was a little dark, but the atmosphere was quite nice... Unfortunately, my camera couldn’t capture it. ㅠㅠ

Anyway, the lively atmosphere was filled with well-mannered guests!! There were quite a lot of tables.

And the restroom was extremely clean.

To show off the clean, pleasant atmosphere, I’m throwing in a photo of my wife!!!

Fortunately, a male staff member who spoke Korean very well served us.

We were also able to ask for recommendations from the menu.

A great restaurant at Park Hyatt Kyoto, located near Kiyomizudera.

Here is the menu at Kyoto Bistro.

They serve Western-style food. The menu includes everything from relatively light dishes to wagyu steak!

The prices were considerably more reasonable than expected. A plate of pasta was under 30,000 won, and a Margherita pizza was almost 20,000 won.

These are prices you can hardly imagine in Korea.

We ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese and the Kyoto Fish & Chips, which had been recommended to us.

We also ordered cocktails. Naturally, I chose the Yuzu Gin Tonic from the signature cocktails, and my wife ordered the Yuzu Soda Iced Tea.

They taste familiar, but they’re still delicious even when you have them again. Aren’t the yellow colors so pretty?

Have two or three glasses!

FETTUCCINE OHMI BEEF BOLOGNESE (¥2,750)

This is Fettuccine Bolognese for under 30,000 won.

It was topped with Parmesan cheese, and I thought it looked delicious as soon as I saw it.

This is a Western-style restaurant at Park Hyatt Kyoto!!!

It was delicious. The kind of deliciousness no one could disagree with... Once the cheese was mixed in, it was incredible.

The portion wasn’t particularly large, but considering that this was Park Hyatt Kyoto and it cost around 26,000 won... it was simply a great deal.

KYOTO FISH & CHIPS (¥3,080)

This is Kyoto Fish & Chips for less than 30,000 won.

The potatoes were baked whole, and large pieces of fried fish were served alongside them.

It came with yuzu kosho aioli, which seemed to be a sauce.

It was crispy and delicious—another dish that was hard to find fault with.

It was the perfect cocktail snack, and I understood why the staff member had recommended it.

Recording once again today that we ate things like these...

Somewhat unusually, we came to Kiyomizudera and filled our stomachs with Western food before leaving. Haha.

Everything is always more enjoyable when we do it together.

When you come to Kiyomizudera, you’ll probably be busy visiting various dessert spots and buying souvenirs.

This was my third visit to Kiyomizudera in my life. This time, I went for a walk and bought souvenirs, but I also looked around Park Hyatt Kyoto!!

Since I wasn’t staying at the hotel, I couldn’t see everything, but it was clearly a place I’d like to stay at someday. I thought it must be especially popular with Western tourists. The space is filled with a distinctly Japanese atmosphere.

So if this is your nth visit, try having Western food near Kiyomizudera!

You can enjoy delicious cocktails and snacks at very reasonable prices. We chatted until sunset before heading back to our accommodation—it’s our little secret!
