This is Baek’s food review.

Here is another Andaz Seoul Gangnam Jogakbo review, arriving whenever you’ve almost forgotten about it.

Of the credit cards I have, the Hyundai Amex Platinum allows me to use the Be My Guest service three times a year, while the KB Heritage Reserve allows it twice a year. From here on, I’ll call it Be My Guest...

Since there is a rule that it can only be used once a month, you have to make sure to use it more carefully than you might expect~ Today, I used the KB Heritage Reserve.

Around this time last year, I visited to have mango bingsu, and that was when I first got into Shinhan Card’s bingsu event, right?

There are now very few Shinhan cards that provide free beverage vouchers. Take a look at the The Best+ card.

Anyway, today I’d like to introduce the renewed menu at Andaz Seoul Gangnam Jogakbo and share my experience trying it.

Some menu items seem to last for a long time, while others disappear almost immediately. Haha. If you’ve already visited, please just enjoy this as a fun read~

Location: 2nd floor, Andaz Seoul Gangnam, 854 Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Parking: Valet parking available.

This is a hotel located right in the middle of Apgujeong Station that offers valet parking.

The cards that offer valet parking are somewhat limited. I usually use the Hyundai Amex Platinum or the Shinhan Marriott Bonvoy The Best.

Based on my limited experience, it seems that some Mastercard cards were refused.

Exterior

I’ll use photos from last year instead. Jogakbo is located on the second floor.

You can go up the stairs or take the elevator on the left.

Interior

Those who have seen my posts will know this place very well, so...

You can get a seat more comfortably by making a reservation in advance, but at most times, there are generally seats available even if you just walk in.

This is the menu at Andaz Seoul Gangnam Jogakbo.

There are several meal options. This time, we ordered half-and-half chicken, okonomiyaki, and pork jowl bossam.

Although Andaz Seoul Jogakbo does a decent job with most things, I personally tend to recommend the half-and-half chicken, beef bulgogi quesadilla, seafood Alfredo spaghetti, and LA galbi or galbi-jjim!!

I don’t recommend the kimchi fried rice, seafood soft tofu stew, or lobster ramen.....

(This is entirely my personal opinion.)

Let’s start eating!!!

Half-and-Half Chicken (27,000 won)

Half seasoned and half fried. This is really well-fried half-and-half chicken. It’s a menu item I order almost every time.

It’s boneless chicken. You might think the portion is a little small, but with BHC and BBQ prices having gone up so much, I think this amount and quality of boneless chicken, fried in clean oil, is a great value.

And besides, we’re getting a 30,000-won discount through Be My Guest, right......!?!?!?

In any case, I personally think the seasoned chicken tastes particularly good.

Pork Jowl Bossam (36,000 won)

The second dish was pork jowl bossam.

You can see the pork jowl at the upper right, neatly grilled and sliced.

If there was one disappointing point, it was that there wasn’t much bossam kimchi. I was hoping for large, chunky pieces of radish kimchi...

The pork jowl was pleasantly springy and delicious.

When eaten with ssamjang and bossam kimchi, the seasoning is well-balanced without being too salty, and it tastes great.

It seems to be a new menu item, and I think it turned out quite well.

Well-made food really... doesn’t look embarrassed even when photographed up close!

It had a very clean appearance, and I enjoyed the pork aroma that became more noticeable the longer I chewed.

The side dishes were also pretty good. I actually ate them all...

If you ask whether you can get more side dishes after finishing them, they will refill them generously!

For reference, the side dishes they refilled were slightly different from the original selection. (A nice bonus?)

Anyway, these were standard-tasting side dishes with a distinctly Seoul-like feel.

The stew subtly helped the rice go down easily.

This stew was delicious too.

It was a Korean dish I was trying for the first time, and I personally had a positive impression of it ^^

Okonomiyaki (19,000 won)

The final star of the meal was the okonomiyaki.

For some reason, I wanted to eat okonomiyaki packed with finely chopped onions... so I ordered it...

Hmm... Maybe because I had eaten delicious okonomiyaki in Japan, but personally, I wasn’t extremely satisfied with it... haha.

First of all, I was hoping it would be full of finely shredded cabbage with a crisp bite, but it wasn’t. So it felt quite soft and lacking in freshnessㅠㅠ

It was almost like eating bread covered generously with sauce... Personally, this was a menu item I found difficult to recommend.

And so, once again, I enjoyed a meal at Andaz with the help of Be My Guest...

It was a little tough for two people to eat three dishes. Haha.

Still, overall, this is a review from someone who was satisfied!

Conclusion

It’s a place that performs above the basics. If you have Be My Guest, be sure to use it!

As I always feel, Andaz Seoul Jogakbo is a place that reliably delivers the basics.

Usually, I think two-thirds of the menu items you choose will be decent... haha. But you can occasionally fall into a trap.....

Korean dishes seem to be slightly hit-or-miss here. I recommend focusing on menu items that include meat-based side dishes.

There are several cards that carry the Amex brand, right? If it’s a Platinum card, it probably includes Be My Guest.

In the case of the Hyundai Amex Platinum, you can even check how many uses you have remaining in the Hyundai Card app.

If you forget about it for longer than expected, you may end up having to use all your remaining benefits at the end of the year... so let’s remember to check and use them in advance~

For reference, the range of establishments offering Be My Guest may differ somewhat between Hyundai Card’s Amex, KB Card’s Amex, and Lotte Card’s Amex. For example, at Voisin at Hotel Naru, the KB card works, but the Hyundai Amex Platinum does not. So rather than concentrating your spending on one card, I recommend spreading it across several cards~ You never know what might happen. Haha.

As far as I know, however, most cards work at Andaz Seoul Jogakbo. Here’s to making wise purchases. ^^
