[Lotte Hotel Seoul] The Peninsula Lounge—Shinhan Card Bingsu Festival Part 2. Review of a 30% Discount on Apple Mango Bingsu with The Best+

Hello.

I’m Dr. Baek from Rev Dental Clinic at Sinsa Station, a renowned destination for teeth whitening.

One day last June, I went to the Grand Hyatt Seoul to have apple mango bingsu.

It was my fifth apple mango bingsu of 2026, and I think it was the best one I’ve had.

I still haven’t posted about the two times I had it on Jeju Island...

Under the name “Shinhan Card Bingsu Festival,” you can enjoy apple mango bingsu at a discounted price if you use a credit card that comes with complimentary hotel beverage vouchers.

The apple mango bingsu at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Gallery was still the best, both last year and this year.

The Peninsula Lounge at Lotte Hotel Seoul

Today’s post is about my experience having apple mango bingsu at The Peninsula Lounge at Lotte Hotel Seoul.

Personally, I think the Gallery at the Grand Hyatt is just a little better.

Parking: Valet parking available.

It is one of our family’s favorite hotels. I think its valet parking service is among the best in Korea.

If you have a complimentary partner credit card, there really isn’t a more perfect place than Lotte Hotel Seoul... Excluding invitation-only cards from each card issuer, the Lotte Diamond, KB Heritage Reserve, and BeV9 cards come to mind.

I used the The BEST+ card at the very bottom, and I have this card for the bingsu events in June, July, August, and September...

Please remember that you need 300,000 won in spending during the previous month.

The event runs for only two months, July and August. We still have about 50 days left.

Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas is running its event through September, so I plan to visit there last.

Exterior

It looks like they’re holding some kind of Maison Margiela event. I honestly don’t really know what it is...

I’m here because I want apple mango bingsu!! I visited without a reservation, and there was no wait.

Interior

The Peninsula Lounge at Lotte Hotel Seoul, which I’ve visited many times. It is a lovely place to relax while looking at the artificial lake and the koi in the water outside and listening to the live performance.

I asked for a window seat and got one.

There are two sizes of apple mango bingsu.

The regular size was eligible for the event, right? The 120,000-won apple mango bingsu was available for 84,000 won, which amounts to a 30% benefit.

Two complimentary beverage vouchers are deducted. In other words, they are used at a value of 18,000 won per drink. Based on my experience, using them at the Westin Josun or a Marriott can sometimes give you a higher value.

A 10% discount is available if you have a Trevi Club membership. I had my Trevi Club membership with me, so realistically, should I consider this a 24,000-won discount..? Haha. Anyway, I came here to eat, so let’s place our order.

It’s lovely to go on a daytime date for two~ It becomes another happy memory.

Apple Mango Bingsu R (₩120,000)

After waiting about 20 minutes, it finally arrived!

On a previous visit, I saw some Chinese guests order the L size, and the portion was... truly more than twice as large.

The apple mangoes had been well ripened, giving them a slightly yellowish color that looked very beautiful.

There is plenty of dry ice inside the container beneath the beautifully presented apple mango bingsu.

They pour in water, and then there’s a little show as smoke billows up. Haha.

I think they did this at the Grand Hyatt Seoul last year, too. Haha.

More smoke came out than I expected, so it was quite a spectacle~

The apple mango bingsu looks delicious...

The mangoes had been allowed to ripen quite a bit.

As I always say, you should visit a place where the apple mango on top of the bingsu is served in cubes if you want a more satisfying experience.

If the mango is firm enough to be served in thin slices, it will have less flavor because it is not as ripe...

The cream on top was a little rich for me.. Haha.

It comes with condensed milk, blue cheese cream, red beans, and mango sorbet.

They all go surprisingly well together when eaten with the bingsu.

Of all of them, I especially like the condensed milk... I have such a childlike palate that enjoys flavors like this. It’s a problem..

I picked up a piece and tried it...

It was delicious! It was apple mango bingsu in excellent condition overall.

It was better than the one at The Westin Seoul Parnas. Personally, I felt the flavor was nearly on par with the Grand Hyatt Seoul.

The one disappointing thing is that, although the ice inside the bingsu is mango-flavored, there is no additional mango beyond what you can see on top.

The apple mango bingsu at the Grand Hyatt Gallery has so much mango inside that it feels like there is more mango than ice, to the point that it is quite filling. At Lotte Hotel Seoul, however, all of the mango is the portion visible on top..

You have to eat through quite a lot of ice, and after I had eaten more than half, I started to enjoy it less.....

It was delicious as always.!!!

Conclusion

Under the same conditions, I would choose the Grand Hyatt.

Although I enjoyed it with a discount, 120,000 won is... not a small amount for one bowl of bingsu.

Considering the price of apple mangoes... having it for 84,000 won seems worth indulging in once.

Also, since the The Best+ card has a 300,000-won annual fee and gives you a 230,000-won voucher, using eight beverage vouchers at 18,000 won each is quite a good deal, isn’t it? (Although the voucher is somewhat difficult to use.)

That said, there is an opportunity cost no matter which location you visit. Personally, if you are going to visit just one place, I would recommend the Grand Hyatt Seoul. Every time I visited, it offered excellent apple mango flavor, generous portions, and decent additional toppings as well. The downside is that the wait can be long...
