The time patients planning arm liposuction are most
curious about is one week after the procedure.

One week after arm liposuction
At this point, the acute reaction immediately after surgery has
subsided to some extent,
but recovery is not yet complete.
Usually, the swelling that was most noticeable on days 2 to 3
gradually decreases,
and bruising starts to fade from a deep purple color
to a yellowish tone.

There may be differences depending on individual skin thickness,
constitution, and the extent of suction,
but a firm, tightly packed feeling throughout the arms can still
remain.
Even if it looks like the visible swelling has gone down at the
one-week mark,

residual swelling still remains in the internal tissues, so the actual
change in circumference is not yet the final result.
Pain level and the range of daily activities possible
Pain is usually strongest on the day of surgery and the following day,
and then gradually eases over time.

By about one week, severe pain has usually
even disappeared, and many people are left with a
aching, muscle-soreness-like discomfort.
Movements such as raising the arms above the head or
lifting heavy objects may still be uncomfortable,
but
most everyday activities such as light washing,
eating, and computer work are possible.

If pain lasts for a long time or is especially severe on
one side, it is necessary to check for a hematoma or
inflammation.
However, in general, tightness in the inner arms and
underarm area tends to last the longest,
and this is a natural response that appears as the
tissues reorganize.

Unlike fat grafting, there is no need to consider graft
take in simple suction surgery,
but it is best to avoid excessive stretching until the
internal adhesions stabilize.
The effect of compression garment care on recovery speed
Wearing a compression garment is an important factor
that determines the quality of recovery.

For one week, the rule is to wear it for most of the day,
and continuous wear is recommended except during shower time.
Proper compression helps reduce residual swelling and
allows the skin to adhere evenly.

However, if it is tightened too much, it can interfere with blood
circulation and may actually make bruising last longer,
so if you feel tingling in the fingertips or notice color changes,
the size should be checked.
A compression garment is not just a device for shaping the body;
it also helps prevent fluid from collecting in the internal space.

If care is neglected during this period, one side may look more
swollen or the uneven contour may last longer.
Line changes at the one-week mark and realistic expectations
After one week, many people feel that the visible arm line has become
slimmer than before.

In particular, as the volume on the outer upper arm decreases,
the side silhouette changes.
However, because swelling still remains, measurements are in most
cases thicker than the final circumference.

It takes at least 4 weeks for the skin to fully adhere and the
internal tissues to stabilize.
As bruising almost disappears and residual swelling goes down,
the contours become more distinct.
At this stage, even if the left and right sides seem different,
there is no need to rush to judgment.

Recovery speed varies depending on fat distribution and the amount
of suction,
and most cases find balance over time.
Therefore, at one week, it is most important to understand that this
is a midway stage in the process and to focus on care.
