When should nasolabial fold fat grafting be considered?
Nasolabial folds are not caused simply by aging.

They often deepen as multiple factors act together, such as a loss of volume in the front cheeks, sagging of the midface, and reduced skin elasticity.
So rather than simply filling the wrinkle itself, an approach that considers the overall balance of facial volume is needed.

Fat grafting uses your own fat to restore sunken areas,
and it has the feature of allowing a relatively natural change in volume.

Unlike simple fillers, it goes through a survival process, so the results tend to settle in gradually.
Because the nasolabial area is a region with frequent facial movement, it is important to design the treatment harmoniously with the surrounding volume rather than overfilling it.
How much difference appears before and after?
The before-and-after difference from nasolabial fold fat grafting varies depending on depth and cause.

If the issue is simply hollowing, volume replenishment alone can create a relatively softer impression.
On the other hand, if midface sagging is also present, volume alone may not solve the problem.

In such cases, the volume of the front cheeks or the area below the cheekbones may also be considered.
Fat grafting has the characteristic of settling into a natural shape over time rather than immediately after injection.
It may initially look slightly overcorrected, but as some of it is absorbed, the balance becomes more refined.
Nasolabial fold fat grafting
Although results vary from person to person, the final volume is usually determined by the survival rate.
How do the survival rate and duration differ?
The key to fat grafting is the survival rate.

Some of the injected fat will be absorbed because it does not receive blood supply, while the rest survives and remains.
In general, the survival rate varies depending on factors such as the individual’s constitution, the area from which fat is harvested, and the injection method.

Because the nasolabial area moves a lot, the absorption rate may be somewhat higher than in other areas.
The duration of the result also varies depending on how much fat survives.
Fat that has settled in tends to last relatively long,
but it can be affected by weight changes and the aging process.
Therefore, rather than filling too much from the beginning, it is more stable to supplement only what is needed and observe the progress.
Price, pain, and what to consider before the procedure
The price of nasolabial fold fat grafting varies depending on the equipment used, the harvest area, and the injection range.

Rather than comparing prices alone, it is important to check how the procedure is carried out.
There may be some discomfort during the harvesting and injection process, but
it is usually well controlled with local anesthesia.

After the procedure, some swelling and bruising may appear, but they gradually improve over time.
Fat grafting is not simply about adding volume; it is a process that must take the overall facial proportions into account.
Creating a plan that suits your facial structure is the key to achieving a natural result.
