After thigh liposuction,
“Seems to stay swollen longer than I expected,”
“How long do I need to wear the compression garment?”
We really get a lot of questions like these.

Because post-procedure care has a greater impact on the results than the surgery itself,
it is much more helpful to know the 기준.
Rather than worrying unnecessarily, it is important to understand what stage you are in right now.

- Swelling changes and recovery stages
The thighs are a relatively large area with a lot of fat,
so swelling tends to last longer.

Left) Before, Right) After 2 months
Right after surgery, swelling and bruising appear together,
and after about 1 to 2 weeks the major swelling goes down, but a firm feeling may still remain.

Left) Before, Right) After 2 months
Usually after one month, the overall swelling gradually decreases,
and after about 2 to 3 months, the lines often begin to settle little by little.
- Compression garment wear guidelines
A compression garment does not simply help reduce swelling;
it is also an important factor in helping the skin and tissues settle stably.

It is recommended to wear it as much as possible throughout the day during the first 2 weeks,
and after that, the wearing time can be gradually reduced depending on your condition.

If the compression is too strong, it can instead feel uncomfortable or irritating,
and if it is too loose, the effect decreases, so it is important to maintain an appropriate snug fit.
Because the thighs are an area with a lot of movement in particular, some people feel a difference in the line depending on whether the compression garment is worn.
- Timing for daily life and exercise
Light daily activities are possible relatively quickly, but
for exercises that strongly stimulate the lower body, it is necessary to adjust the timing.

Usually, walking is not a problem from the early stage, but
lower-body strength training or high-intensity cardio activities should be started while checking your condition
from about 3 to 4 weeks later.

If you push yourself with excessive movement too early,
swelling may last longer or tissue recovery may be delayed.
So with exercise, it is more important not to start quickly, but to increase it step by step according to your recovery.
- Care points by recovery period
The first 1 to 2 weeks are the most important period for swelling management and stability.
From weeks 3 to 4, massage or radiofrequency care may help
soften and loosen fibrous adhesions gently.

Between 1 and 3 months, the lines are gradually being refined,
so rather than rushing, consistent care is important.
If a specific area feels unusually firm or asymmetrical,
it is better to give that area more careful attention.
