If you are looking into arm liposuction,
you likely have many questions about aftercare as well
as the procedure itself.
Among them, questions about how long to wear a compression garment
and when swelling goes down are especially common.

Compression garment period after arm liposuction
Rather than just knowing the duration,
it is more helpful to understand it together with the recovery process.
So today, I’ll organize the compression garment wearing period,
changes in swelling, and the recovery process after arm liposuction
based on real standards.

- Why is a compression garment necessary
After arm liposuction, a compression garment is
not just a simple support item; it plays an important
role in recovery.

It helps the space where fat was removed
adhere naturally from the inside,
and it also helps reduce unnecessary swelling.

It also affects how well the skin settles
without sagging and how the contour is refined,
so you can think of it as an essential part
of the early recovery stage.
- How long should you wear a compression garment
Usually, the compression garment is
worn starting right after surgery.

In general, wearing it for about 4 to 6 weeks
is often recommended.
For the first two weeks,
it is best to wear it for most of the day if possible.
After that, depending on recovery,
the wearing time may be adjusted gradually.

Compression garment period after arm liposuction
Wearing it continuously, including while sleeping,
is generally more helpful for managing swelling
and maintaining the contour.
- Swelling and recovery after arm liposuction
From immediately after surgery to about one week later,
swelling and bruising are at their most noticeable.

2 months later
At this stage, the arms may feel firm
or movement may feel uncomfortable.

2 months later
Then, after about 2 to 4 weeks,
swelling gradually decreases and the visible contour
slowly begins to settle.

Usually, around 4 to 6 weeks,
most of the noticeable swelling has gone down.
After about 2 to 3 months,
as the skin settles inward,
the contour gradually becomes more natural.
- Precautions and care points when wearing it
Wearing a compression garment for a long time is important,
but how you wear it is also important.

If it is too tight,
it may put strain on blood flow,
while if it is too loose,
the compression effect may be reduced.

Also, during early recovery, it is better to avoid
using the arms excessively or lifting heavy objects.
This is because repeated small stresses can affect
swelling and recovery.

Compression garment period after arm liposuction
After arm liposuction, wearing the compression garment
consistently for a certain period is an important factor.
Rather than simply completing the prescribed duration,
it is more important to manage it according to your recovery status.
If you also understand the changes in swelling
and the process of the skin settling,
it can help reduce the burden of the recovery process.
