When you are considering thigh liposuction because of lower-body obesity,
rather than simply asking, “Will the thigh fat come off?”
many people are more curious about whether the hip line and the Chanel line will also be refined.

In particular, there is often strong expectation that the overall leg line will also look better.
To give the conclusion first,
some parts may look better together,
but it is difficult to say that they will definitely all be addressed together.
Today, based on structure,
I will realistically organize the changes in the hip and Chanel lines, as well as possible side effects.

- What is the Chanel line?
The term “Chanel line” originally
refers to the hem length of a skirt that falls below the knee.

In aesthetics, however, it is used a little differently
to refer to the line extending from the inner thigh to the inner knee.
This area is not necessarily where a thick layer of fat accumulates,
but it often plays a role in making the line look blurred.

So even if you lose weight, this area may still appear unchanged,
or your legs may not seem to fall into a neat shape.
Because of these characteristics,
when refining the overall thigh line,
whether the Chanel line is also refined is often considered important.
- Will thigh liposuction also change the hip line?
Thigh liposuction does not look only at the thigh as a standalone area,
but often also considers the boundary line below the hip when refining the contour.

In particular, if fat has accumulated below the hip,
defining this area can create a visual change that makes the hips look lifted.
However, since this is not actually a procedure that lifts the hips,
the hips themselves do not rise.
- Why they can look better together, and case characteristics
The reason the Chanel line or hip line may look better together after thigh liposuction is that the overall volume decreases and the boundaries become more defined.

Especially when the inner thighs, outer thighs, and fat below the hips are all developed together,
the blurred, heavy-looking lines become separated,
so the change feels more noticeable.

On the other hand, if there is not much fat
or if skin elasticity is reduced,
the decrease in volume may be less noticeable than sagging or a collapse in the line.
- Points to watch, and problems that can occur with over-removal
This part is the most important.
When performing thigh liposuction,

When the hip line collapses
if too much tissue is removed from the boundary area below the hips,
the fat layer supporting the hips may be reduced,
and the line can collapse.
As a result, the area under the hips may look hollow,
or the hips may appear saggy overall.

When the line is interrupted due to excessive suction (waist)
Excessive suction can also make the surface uneven,
leading to a lumpy indentation in the skin or an interrupted-looking line.
During recovery, a hardening of the tissue called bio-bonding can occur,
and this also tends to appear more strongly when there is over-removal or significant tissue damage.

Lower-body obesity thigh liposuction
At first, it may feel like swelling,
but over time it can be felt as a firm nodule.
So rather than simply removing a lot,
it is important to keep the boundary between the hips and thighs natural
and refine the area in a balanced way.
