Even after dieting, fat may remain particularly under the chin,
making the face look round and the jawline appear indistinct.
In such cases, people may look into chin fat liposuction.
Some may think that the more fat is removed, the smaller and
slimmer the face will become.
However, the face is an area where even small changes
can alter the overall impression.

Therefore, rather than removing an excessive amount unconditionally,
it is important to determine an appropriate range by considering the distribution of fat, skin elasticity, and jawline structure.

- Why chin fat develops
Not every double chin develops
for the same reason.

In some cases, the amount of fat under the chin increases due to weight gain,
while in others, fat becomes concentrated under the chin due to individual fat distribution, even when the person is generally slim.
In addition, a small or recessed chin may make the tissue under the chin
stand out relatively more, creating the appearance of a double chin.
As skin elasticity decreases with age,
the skin under the chin may sag downward,
making the jawline look less defined than before.

Therefore, when considering chin fat liposuction, rather than simply
checking the thickness of the chin fat, it is advisable to examine the facial shape and jaw structure together.
- Why removing too much is not advisable
With chin fat liposuction, it is more important to determine
how much fat should be left evenly and appropriately than to remove a large amount.

If more fat than necessary is removed,
the layer between the skin and underlying tissue may become excessively thin,
which can make the surface appear uneven.
If more is removed from certain areas than from others,
those areas may look locally hollow, or the balance between the left and right jawlines may appear different.

In particular, the overall line extending from the chin tip to below the ears
needs to look natural.
If only one area is suctioned excessively,
the face’s natural volume and
contours may instead appear disrupted.
Ultimately, the goal of chin fat liposuction
is not to eliminate as much fat as possible,
but to create a jawline that suits the face.
- How far should liposuction extend?
When people refer to chin fat,
it is easy to think only of the fat directly beneath the chin.

However, in many cases, fat is distributed not only under the chin
but also around the jawline.
If only the fat in the center beneath the chin is removed
while relatively more fat remains on both sides,
the side profile of the jawline may not look smooth.
Conversely, caution is also needed when suctioning too broadly,
including the cheeks or areas around the jawline, beyond what is necessary.
This is because reducing volume that the face needs
may make it look excessively hollow or emphasize its contours.

Therefore, the range of chin fat liposuction
should be determined after assessing where the fat has accumulated and its thickness,
while considering the proportions of the entire face.
It is important to examine not only the width of the face seen from the front,
but also how the jawline connects when viewed at 45 degrees and from the side.
- Points to check for a natural jawline
Even with the same amount of fat,
changes after chin fat liposuction may differ depending on skin elasticity and facial bone structure.

When skin elasticity is sufficient,
the skin may be expected to settle along the jawline
after the fat is reduced.
On the other hand, when skin laxity is already present,
reducing only the fat may make the remaining skin
stand out more noticeably.
In addition, depending on the position of the chin tip and the shape of the jawbone,
the jawline revealed after fat removal may differ from person to person.
Ultimately, the number of cc removed during chin fat liposuction
is not an absolute standard that determines the outcome.
It is important to comprehensively consider the amount and distribution of fat under the chin, skin elasticity, facial bone structure,
and the connection of the jawline from the front and side, and then plan a range suited to the individual.
Rather than removing an excessive amount of fat unconditionally,

we recommend setting a plan after a sufficient consultation,
with the goal of creating contours that blend naturally with your original face.
