Q. Does reflux esophagitis affect the teeth as well?

If you have reflux esophagitis, stomach acid repeatedly comes into contact with the teeth, which can erode the tooth surface and gradually make it thinner.

In particular, the edges of the front teeth can easily become worn down or chipped, and the teeth may look translucent or become sensitive.

This patient also had erosion and chipped tooth edges, but we performed Gelami no-prep laminate treatment in a way that preserved healthy teeth as much as possible.

Protruding teeth are a problem, but a protruded upper bite is not.

When laminates are bonded and become slightly thicker, the protruded upper bite is also naturally improved.

The patient gave sharp feedback, so we created rounded spaces at the ends of the teeth to make them look more natural and younger.

From the beginning, the goal of treatment was not white, dazzling teeth, but restoring damaged teeth, so the patient did not want the teeth to become much brighter than the original tooth color.
