Hello, this is Stella.
When I speak with patients, I often hear things like:
> “My face used to have a V-line shape, but it has become more square.”
> “As I’ve gotten older, I increasingly dislike taking selfies.”
> “I spent more than 10 million won on lifting lasers, but I haven’t seen any results.”
and so on.
First, there are three main methods for addressing the sagging that is often the primary concern:
Sagging and reduced elasticity begin in the early to mid-30s, and a step-by-step approach is needed depending on your skin type.
-
Lifting lasers (early-stage sagging)
-
Thread lifting (moderate sagging + used together with lifting lasers)
-
Facelift (severe sagging after the 50s)
> “After middle age, it is not simply a matter of reduced skin elasticity; this is a period when sagging of the facial structures themselves progresses.”
People in their 40s to 60s generally go through the following processes:
reduced skin elasticity / downward displacement of fat / loss of jawline definition / sagging of the deep cheek fat / neck laxity
The only way to return the descended tissues to their original position is a facelift.
A facelift generally lasts 6 months to 1 year
Lifting lasers are considered a form of maintenance treatment
In many cases, people undergo thread lifting and lifting lasers together, so an investment of around 6 million won may be needed when using high-priced lifting equipment.
This would be a financial burden for anyone.
Compared with the cost of repeatedly undergoing procedures and the unsatisfactory results they may provide,
with a facelift,
the changes are the most clearly visible,
and because it is a surgical method that lifts the tissues from the fascia, the results often last for several years or more.
When considering facelift surgery, it is helpful to check whether:
- The doctor has handled a wide range of cases, including revision surgeries
- The doctor lifts the tissues up to the SMAS layer
- The doctor is also experienced in performing neck lifts
