Hello ^^
“I'm planning to have it done in winter because I'm worried the wound might worsen in summer.”
This is something we often hear in the consultation room.
Many people think that the risk of infection increases because of the hot weather.
However, post-surgical infections are influenced more significantly by the following factors than by the season:
The surgical environment and the medical staff's infection control
The individual's physical condition, post-surgery care, and understanding of the precautions
These days, even during the hot summer, cooling facilities and hygiene management are well maintained in many places.
Therefore, it is difficult to simply assume, “I think I'll develop inflammation because it's summer.”

Sweating will ruin the surgery?
Sweating itself after surgery does not ruin the results.
However, during the early stages of recovery, excessive exercise or strenuous activity can affect swelling management, so caution is needed.
The issue is not the sweat itself, but overexertion and strenuous physical activity.
Is recovery slower in summer?
Individual differences have a significant impact on the speed of recovery.
In general, sleep quality, nutritional status, smoking, overall health, and the type of surgery have a major effect on the recovery process.
In fact, one advantage is that you can use your summer vacation or school break to get plenty of rest and focus on your recovery.
Ultimately, the points that matter more than the season are:
Getting enough rest, following the medical staff's instructions, avoiding alcohol, not smoking, protecting yourself from UV rays, and attending regular follow-up appointments.
We recommend understanding your daily routine and consulting with your medical staff ^^
