Garosu-gil Restaurant Wooa (雨蛙)
Okonomiyaki & Yakisoba
/
There seem to be so many hidden restaurants in Garosu-gil.
Among them, Wooa in Garosu-gil was a place I had wanted to visit for a long time!
It serves Japanese food,
and the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious too.
I’d been seeing it a lot on social media these days,
so I thought, oh,,,, this can’t be left out!!!!!!!! and went there right away. It was a Garosu-gil restaurant visit!

Garosu-gil Wooa menu
I went right at dinner time, so I thought there might be a wait,
but fortunately there was no waiting at Garosu-gil Wooa!
The menu includes yam okonomiyaki, yakisoba,
and side dishes, drinks, and alcohol.
I liked the simple menu board!
The staff asked if it was my first visit,
and if I said it was, they told me which menu items people order the most.
So instead of having to choose several things,
I just ordered the recommended items on the menu as they were.

At Garosu-gil restaurant Wooa, the food is served on the iron griddle set at each table.
So I was able to enjoy it warm until the very end!
Since we were a small group, we sat at the bar instead of a table,
and because it was an open kitchen, we could see everything being cooked.

There wasn’t much in the way of a basic table setting.
There was cool water on the table,
and plates and cups were set out.
And they gave us a salad of fresh cabbage topped with salt, pepper, and sesame oil(?), which was really delicious!
It wasn’t a special taste, but you know those things your chopsticks just keep going back to?
This was exactly that!

When you order food, they cook it right in front of you.
Watching the cooking up close was also part of the fun at Garosu-gil Wooa.

The beer and highball we ordered came out first.
/
Draft Red Rock beer
(4,000 won)
Jameson Cranberry & Lemon
(8,000 won)

Of the okonomiyaki and yakisoba,
the okonomiyaki came out first.
I heard that Wooa’s okonomiyaki
is made without flour batter,
and uses 100% yam.
/
Yamaimo (100% yam) okonomiyaki
Tomato (homemade tomato sauce and Reggiano cheese) sauce
Price 12,500 won
Maybe because of that, the first bite was even softer and better!!!!!!
It also had plenty of vegetables like bean sprouts,
so the chewy texture was great too.
Garosu-gil okonomiyaki!

Halfway through the okonomiyaki,
the Garosu-gil Wooa yakisoba came out!
Wooa’s yakisoba is made with fresh noodles
and stir-fried on an iron griddle.
If the okonomiyaki is eaten with sauce and has a tangy, easy-to-like flavor,
then Garosu-gil yakisoba was a mild yet
clean Japanese-style stir-fried noodle dish!

Not only were the atmosphere and taste great,
but it was also fun to watch at Garosu-gil restaurant Wooa.
Personally, this is a restaurant I would 200% visit again.
Taste preferences can differ from person to person, so please keep that in mind!
