Gangnam Station restaurant Tteokdoritang
Tteokbokki + dakdoritang = delicious♡
/
There are so many places to eat around Gangnam Station,
but there are also so many good restaurants that it’s hard to choose...!
Unless you have a specific menu in mind and think, “This is it!”
it’s really hard to decide where to go.
This time, I visited Tteokdoritang, which is very famous as a Gangnam Station restaurant.
I heard there’s usually a wait even on weekdays,
but luckily, there was no wait when I went.
Since Gangnam Station is always crowded,
there was, as expected, no waiting line, but there were still a lot of people.

I had heard many times that Gangnam Station restaurant Tteokdoritang is a truly great place to eat,
and I remember receiving a lot of flyers when passing through this area.
And here they have Tteokdoritang, which combines tteokbokki and dakdoritang,
and as side dishes there are potato pancake,
rice balls, fried rice, and ramen noodles,
among other menu items.

It doesn’t seem like there’s a separate break time,
but since I went at an odd hour, they were preparing for the next time slot.
I prefer wheat tteok over rice tteok,
and the tteok used in Gangnam Station Tteokdoritang is also wheat tteok!!!!!!!!
Once this wheat tteok soaks up the sauce, it’s really...... delicious...!!!!!!!!!

The basic side dishes are bean sprouts and cubed radish kimchi.
Honestly, with tteokbokki + dakdoritang, you don’t really need any other side dishes, right?

The best way to make rice balls is to shape them one by one!
If you make them too big, you have to break them apart to eat them,
so the key is to make them bite-sized.
And at Gangnam Station Tteokdoritang, the broth just
makes you want rice, so rice balls are a must..!
I hesitated a little between getting fried rice or not,
but first I ordered rice balls, and if I wasn’t full I’d go for fried rice...^^...

Tteokdoritang is served partially cooked,
so once it starts boiling, you just cook it a little more and then eat it.
The broth should be nicely soupy for it to taste good,
and you should eat a few pieces of tteok before they stick to the bottom.

Pick out the tteok first!

After eating chicken, tteok, vegetables, and various other things,
I also put the rice balls I had made earlier on top and ate them.
If there had been a few more people, I think it would have been great to order potato pancake too
and soak it in the broth.

I debated whether to get fried rice,, or not,,
but that day I skipped the fried riceㅠ.ㅠ
Gangnam Station restaurant Tteokdoritang
had very tender chicken and plenty of meat, which I liked,
but above all, I liked that there were so many potatoesㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It may not seem very different from other dakdoritang dishes,
but Gangnam Station Tteokdoritang was exactly my kind of place!
If you’re craving tteokbokki and also need something to go with drinks,
I recommend tteokbokki + dakdoritang = Tteokdoritang

These days I trust MangoPlate a lot,
and when I saw that Tteokdoritang was ranked 112th among Gangnam Station restaurants,
I was kind of like, huh????????
As expected, Gangnam Station has so many restaurants..ㅠㅠ..
