Apgujeong Station Lunch at Hongbajang — Sinuiju Sticky Rice Sundae
I really recommend the sundae gukbap!
On cold days, more than any other menu,
I think a hot bowl of gukbap is the most appealing.
Maybe that’s why, on chilly days, gukbap restaurants are packed!
The Hongbajang sundae gukbap place near Apgujeong Station that I visited today
was also really crowded.

Hongbajang Sinsa Branch is already very well known.
The sundae gukbap is famous, but the pork backbone hangover soup is also popular.
When I went, it was right at the lunch rush,
so I had to wait outside for a bit.
But it was only about 5 minutes?

These are the business hours for Hongbajang Sinsa Branch.
They’re posted right on the front of the store!

While waiting outside, I placed my order in advance.
I was debating between the pork backbone hangover soup and the sundae gukbap, so I ordered the sundae gukbap,
but almost everyone at the other tables was eating the pork backbone hangover soup.
I want to try the pork backbone hangover soup next time!
At Hongbajang Sinuiju Sticky Rice Sundae near Apgujeong Station,
there are three basic side dishes: kimchi, pickled radish, and seasoned chili peppers.
The soy sauce was for the king dumplings we also ordered!

Shrimp salted sauce that you can dip the sundae into

Since I ordered outside, I couldn’t properly photograph the lunch menu at Apgujeong Station,
so I just took pictures of what I could see lol
Stir-fried spicy pork bibimbap
Fox Sundae Guk
Mushroom Sundae Guk
Bean Sprout Sundae Guk
Young Cabbage Sundae Guk
These were the five menu items listed.
I was curious about the Fox Sundae Guk,
and it turns out it’s a dish with lean meat and sundae.

The sundae gukbap I ordered came out quickly at Hongbajang near Apgujeong Station!
There was pale, milky beef bone broth with head meat and sundae.
Unlike other sundae restaurants, the sundae here
was really soft and so deliciousㅠ.ㅠ
Maybe because it’s sticky rice sundae,
it was chewier than regular glass-noodle sundae, and the texture was so good!

And the king dumplings we ordered as a side menu!

The sundae I had set aside earlier was really delicious..ㅠㅠ...
I almost wanted to order more sundae by itself.
It turns out there is a set meal on the menu!
For about 2,000 won more,
it seems to be a menu with sundae gukbap + a small serving of sticky rice sundae.
Next time, I definitely want to try the set meal!!

I mixed in the seasoning paste inside the sundae gukbap,
added a bit of shrimp salted sauce to adjust the flavor to my liking,
and enjoyed it at Apgujeong Station lunch spot Sinuiju Sticky Rice Sundae!
Above all, compared with other sundae gukbap places,
I really liked that it wasn’t overly strong or heavy,
and I also liked that there was a lot of head meat and sundae.
I personally prefer the solid ingredients over the broth.
I should go again sometime soonㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ
Thank you for the meal :-)
