Since Konkuk University is a university area,
there are really a lot of people no matter where you go.
Especially if you go to a popular restaurant or a famous cafe,
waiting is pretty much a must!
The Yeolmae Bakery Cafe I visited
was a small dessert cafe in an alley.

Yeolmae Bakery Cafe is a very small cafe even when you look at it from the outside.
It isn’t far, but you do have to go in a bit,
and when I visited, this Konkuk University cafe wasn’t very crowded!

There is a small signboard in front of the cafe,
so you might accidentally walk right past it, so be sure to look carefully!

Before I visited, it was before Christmas,
so they were taking orders for Christmas cakes.
This place serves drinks, of course,
but it’s a dessert cafe where they bake their own bread and pastries :-)

There are only three tables, so it’s a small cafe,
but it was a place where a quaint charm and coziness coexisted.
First of all, Yeolmae Bakery Cafe had a huge variety of desserts!

There were pound cakes, madeleines, scones, and canelés.
Some desserts were already sold out.
From what I saw on Instagram, the menu seems to change with the seasons.
It looks like they bake delicious desserts with seasonal ingredients.

You can also get desserts to go!
If you purchase over 10,000 won, they will package it nicely for you.
I came here thinking I had definitely taken a photo of the menu,
but...
why did I leave out the menu photoㅠ.ㅠ
At Yeolmae Bakery Cafe, I ordered
iced Americano / hot Americano /
apple crumble / vanilla madeleine
like this.

Since this is a Konkuk University cafe where the owner does everything,
after taking one order, they would prepare it first
and then take the next order.
Still, since the store itself isn’t very large,
I think that’s possible.
Yeolmae Bakery Cafe wasn’t decorated in a flashy way, and it was made with just simple decorative items,
which also gave it a very warm feeling.

This is the apple crumble from this Konkuk dessert cafe!
It feels similar to apple pie, but it’s also a different menu item.
On top of that, they added sweet cream,
and it wasn’t overly sweet, which I liked.
The apple gave it a slightly tart, nice flavor.
And they warmed up the apple crumble a little,
and the cream on top had melted slightly!

This is Yeolmae Bakery Cafe’s vanilla madeleine!
The texture was almost sponge-like (?) and it was soft and moist,
so the madeleine was deliciousㅠ.ㅠ
Madeleines seem like a dessert that goes really well with coffee,

Yeolmae Bakery Cafe is also running a social media event.
If you post on Instagram or on your blog,
three winners will be selected by monthly drawing
and will receive a snack box gift set!

For the restroom at Yeolmae Bakery Cafe, you have to use the building restroom.

The coffee at this Konkuk University cafe was delicious too, not just the desserts.
It went so well with the dessert I ordered.
When I left, I also packed up canelés and madeleines to take home.
They packed them in a cute bag too.
Thanks for the meal :-)
