They say that in Jeolla-do, any restaurant you go into will be delicious, right?
I had already heard a lot about Jeolla-do hanjeongsik and knew it was famous.
But since I was in Jeolla-do, I thought I should eat hanjeongsik before leaving, haha.
I searched around and there were so many famous places, but my companions and I
prefer clean and neat places, so we visited Solbitmaru in Sangmu District.

It was a little past lunchtime, so I called ahead and they said they would prepare it in advance,
which put my mind at ease when we went.
We ordered the most basic set, Solbit Jeongshik!
I saw that many people also order the Solbit chicken course when searching online.

Some places have different lunch and dinner course prices,
but at Solbitmaru in Sangmu District, the lunch and dinner prices
are the same!

First, they set out a salad and black sesame porridge,
and the porridge was so smooth and made such a great appetizer!!!
I've been into black sesame lately anyway, so the nutty flavor was really nice.
The salad was very refreshing, probably because of the yuzu dressing.

After the salad came boiled pork, sweet and sour mushroom, fried sole,
steamed skate, tteokgalbi, and stir-fried squid and chicken.
Each dish was so neat and delicious,
and I kept thinking it would be really good with rice.
When fried sole is served as a side dish,
it's usually either almost all bones, or so tough it’s hard to eat,
but at Solbitmaru in Gwangju,
the flesh was really substantial, tender, and so good!

After eating the dishes that came out first,
rice side dishes and seaweed soup were served.
At Gwangju hanjeongsik restaurant Solbitmaru, they serve rice in a hot stone pot,
and instead of one stone pot per person, it comes in a large stone pot,
so each person can scoop it into their own rice bowl.
Also, the side dishes served with the rice were good enough to eat as bibimbap!

It had been a really long time since I last had rice in a hot stone pot,
and the rice was so sticky and sweet that it didn’t even need side dishes.
Maybe because they cooked it so deliciously with good rice,
I kept eating without even realizing itㅠ.ㅠ
You know how rice tastes even better when you have delicious side dishes with it, right?ㅜㅜ

After I finished eating and was sitting there full,
they even served sweet pumpkin sikhye for dessert!
