Gangnam Station restaurant Albuja, the roe dish specialty restaurant — the aljjim is really delicious!
/
Every time I passed by here, the line was long,
so I wondered, what on earth is so delicious about it?
Places called Gangnam Station restaurants always have a wait as a given,
and I thought it was just because there were so many people, but Gangnam Station Albuja
was actually a very famous roe dish restaurant for a long time!!!!
I went and ate the famous aljjim!
Albuja Al Yori
14 Gangnam-daero 98-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
(Road address: Yeoksam-dong 817-34)
Every day from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Open year-round
Break time on weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Since there’s always a wait, whether it’s a weekday or weekend,
I think I waited almost an hour even though I got there early.
Everyone I asked about Gangnam Station Albuja
couldn’t stop praising it as a truly great aljjim place..!!
It’s divided into the first and second floors, but since
it’s not a place where you can only eat a meal,
turnover wasn’t very fast.
So I think that’s why the wait was even longer.

When you’re shown to your seat, they first set up the al-bap.
Even without any special ingredients, it was so delicious
and savory!!!!!!!
It was great for filling up quickly.

The basic side dishes were white kimchi, stir-fried aged kimchi, young napa cabbage, salad,
diced radish kimchi, and cold cucumber soup,
and since the aljjim is spicy, it seemed like the set was mostly
made up of side dishes without red pepper powder.

The cold cucumber soup had an unusual colorful look.

I was hungry from waiting in line, but after eating a few bites of the savory al-bap,
I felt even hungrier..!!!!!!

The aljjim I’d been waiting for finally came out.
I ordered the smallest aljjim size and added gon-i!
Gangnam Station Albuja’s aljjim was different from others;
it wasn’t the kind that only had a little roe in bean sprout stew!!
And they cut the large roe into big pieces, and it really looked delicious...!!!!!

The right amount of spiciness, the popping roe, and the soft gon-i were all so good —
Gangnam Station aljjim was really delicious!
They said that if you eat the aljjim here, you can’t help but drink alcohol,
and I really understood why that saying exists.
I waited about an hour, but when I considered the price and everything else,
it was so delicious that, by my standards, there wasn’t anything I regretted at all.

By the time I was eating, I was so full that I debated whether I should get fried rice or not,
but I thought, even if I leave some behind, I should at least try the taste!!!!! so
I ate the fried rice too before leaving.
The aljjim seasoning itself is delicious, so however you eat it,
it just feels like it’ll be good, you know...?
They also added diced radish kimchi to the fried rice, which made the texture great too.
I’m definitely 500% willing to come back to Gangnam Station Albuja again!!!!!!!!
