Bongpiyang, a Pyeongyang naengmyeon restaurant listed in the 2020 Michelin Guide!
In the hot summer, I crave cold noodles like naengmyeon or makguksu,
but Pyeongyang naengmyeon always seemed too intimidating to even try.
I had a meal at the Bongpiyang Bangi branch,
so I ended up trying Pyeongyang naengmyeon for the first time. ㅎㅎ

Naengmyeon at Bongpiyang Bangi Branch
When it comes to Pyeongyang naengmyeon, there are a few famous places,
but Bongpiyang’s Bangi branch is especially well known, right?
It has also appeared on TV programs like Soo Myeoi Sikhoe and Korean Food Table,
and I heard it’s a good place to start with Pyeongyang naengmyeon.
Bongpiyang Pyeongyang naengmyeon doesn’t seem cheap.
After reading many reviews saying it tastes so good that it doesn’t feel wasteful at all,
I was really curiousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ At Bongpiyang, many people
order Pyeongyang naengmyeon together with pork ribs.
The galbi + naengmyeon combination really seems like the best combinationㅠㅠ

I ordered hanwoo brisket boiled meat and Pyeongyang naengmyeon,
and they were great to eat with the noodles!!

I tried both Pyeongyang naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon!!
First of all, both looked very appetizing,
and I think the bibim one suited my taste betterㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I still feel like I haven’t really gotten the true taste of Pyeongyang naengmyeon yet.

For Pyeongyang naengmyeon, you’re supposed to taste the broth first without adding anything,
then add vinegar to the noodles to your liking and mix it in.
At the Bongpiyang Bangi branch, there was even an instruction on the table
for Pyeongyang naengmyeon beginners about how to eat Pyeongyang naengmyeonㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It wasn’t an especially刺激ive taste, but after eating it,
I did think, “I’d like to try it one more time,, ”!
The world of Pyeongyang naengmyeon, which you can never fully understand after just one tryㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I’ll visit again next time!
