Hello, this is Luho Plastic Surgery.
Today, through Aseongwon’s video, we will take some time to learn about
'forehead lift surgery,' which is not only consistently popular among middle-aged and older adults,
but is also being performed a lot these days among younger people as well.
The person explaining it is Dr. Park Il, the head doctor at Luho, whom I also introduced in a previous post and who resembles Cha In-pyo.
Shall we get right into it without further ado?

Forehead lift surgery is one of the procedures that helps prevent aging around the eyes.
It is a surgery worth considering for people who feel that the distance between the eyes and eyebrows is too short and find that look stuffy or cramped.

As people age,
the skin sags due to aging,
and the eyebrows also gradually droop downward because of aging.
In that situation, since the muscles that pull the eyebrows down are stronger than the muscles that lift them,
the eyebrows continue to move downward.

Forehead lift surgery raises the forehead
and increases the space between the eyes and eyebrows,
so it can be described as a surgery that maintains the distance between the eyes and eyebrows.

It is a surgery that pulls up sagging skin on the forehead and weakens the force of the muscles that lower the eyebrows,
allowing the eyebrows to rise higher than before.

Through this,
it widens the distance between the eyebrows and eyes, improving the stuffy look,
and also improves wrinkles between the eyebrows and on the bridge of the nose, as well as forehead wrinkles.
After surgery, the effect generally lasts for about 10 years.

The forehead lift method being used these days involves making a small incision in the scalp, then using an endoscope to dissect the sagging forehead skin,
adjusting the muscles that pull on the inner eyebrows, lifting the forehead,
and fixing the pulled skin toward the scalp,
with the goal of minimizing swelling and scarring.

The side effects of forehead lift surgery are mainly:
-
Scarring at the incision site
-
Possibility of hair loss
-
Abnormal sensation in the scalp
However, the scar at the incision site is located where it can mostly be covered by hair, so it is not a problem.
As for hair loss in item 2, it is also temporary, so recovery is possible soon,
and it is generally considered to normalize within 3 to 6 months at the latest.
Some people also mention abnormal scalp sensation,
but this too is generally expected to resolve within 3 to 6 months.

In the case of people with thin eyelid skin and hollowness above the eyes,
after forehead lift surgery, that hollowness can sometimes become more pronounced.
Therefore, you should definitely consult a specialist about your condition before deciding on surgery.

Forehead lift surgery is usually performed for sagging skin around the eyes,
so if you try to solve the problem with upper blepharoplasty alone, the impression can become too strong,
which is why combining it with a forehead lift can help achieve a more natural result.
If the distance between the eyes and eyebrows is excessively short, it is better to perform the forehead lift first
and then proceed with upper blepharoplasty.
However, if you have already had double eyelid surgery or upper blepharoplasty,
it can be said that there is no major problem even if the forehead lift is performed afterward.
