Hello, this is Ruo Plastic Surgery.
Medial canthoplasty is a procedure that makes the eyes look bigger
and more open.
However, if too much medial canthoplasty is performed,
the lacrimal caruncle becomes overly visible, which can make the space between the eyebrows look narrow,
and the eyes may appear harsh.
In such cases, improvement through medial canthoplasty revision
can help create a softer eye shape.
Let’s look at how the case changed through a revision procedure performed at our clinic.

and surgical results and recovery processes may vary from person to person.
Before medial canthoplasty revision
This patient also visited Ruo Plastic Surgery because of concerns about
overexposed lacrimal caruncles
and an unnatural eye shape.
◆ Before revision surgery
Because the inner corner of the eyes was opened too much (triangular space),
the lacrimal caruncle was clearly visible, and the patient said they wanted to change the sharp-looking eyes
that gave a strong impression.
Considering the eye shape before surgery,
we aimed to create softer eyes by restoring as much as appropriate.

Ruo Plastic Surgery Medial Canthoplasty Revision: 4 POINTS
At Sinsa Station Ruo Plastic Surgery, medial canthoplasty revision is
performed after analyzing each person’s eye condition.
It is a method for naturally improving eye shapes that are unsatisfactory after medial canthoplasty,
or eye shapes that have become unnatural due to excessive opening.

When can medial canthoplasty revision be performed?
If it is done before the tissue has recovered,
side effects may occur.
We recommend considering revision only after at least 6 months of recovery time have passed.

After medial canthoplasty revision at Sinsa Station Ruo Plastic Surgery
"Doctor, my eyes look rounder than before!"
As the overly exposed lacrimal caruncle was revised,
the artificial impression that had looked overcorrected
disappeared naturally in this case.
◆ After revision surgery
-
The exposed lacrimal caruncle was gently covered
-
The balance of the eyes was restored normally
-
The inner corners became more natural, changing to a calmer eye shape
The line at the inner corner of the eyes, which had given a sharp impression,
changed naturally and became more stable.
The amount of exposed sclera on the inner side of the eye was not excessive,
and the angle of the inner corner was restored more gently.

If revision is needed
You had medial canthoplasty to achieve a more open eye shape,
but it looks different from what you expected
and you want revision?
The key to medial canthoplasty revision is
judging how much to reverse
based on the structure of the eye.
Because skin thickness, elasticity, the extent of existing scars,
and the patient’s needs are all different,
appropriate adjustment tailored to the condition is necessary.
After a precise preoperative diagnosis,
choose a medical team that designs the procedure differently for each individual
and look forward to satisfactory results.
