In this post, we will analyze an actual surgical case involving the correction of a prominent hump and the creation of a graceful nasal line.

Surgical History

The patient decided to undergo rhinoplasty to achieve a more sophisticated nasal line.

✔️ Refine the alar base to create a slimmer, more defined shape

✔️ Improve the direction of the nasal tip so that the nostrils are not visible

Surgical Plan and Procedure

1) Hump correction

• The protruding hump was refined to design a smoothly continuous bridge line.

2) Improving the columella line​

• By balancing the columella and nasal tip together, nostril exposure was reduced and a stable nasal tip shape was created.

3) Structural nasal tip design

• An implant was used to balance the nasal bridge, while ear cartilage and the septum were used to secure support for the nasal tip.

The hump made the side profile appear pronounced, while the nasal tip looked round and broad.

Although significant swelling remained, the bridge line had become smoother and the nasal tip was beginning to take shape.

As the swelling subsided, the refined line became visible and the contours of the nasal tip became more defined.

This procedure did not artificially increase the height of the nose. Instead, the connection between the columella and nasal tip was considered together to create a feminine line with a natural appearance.
