Frequently asked questions about eyelid fat grafting

Q. Is a second eyelid fat grafting procedure necessary?

A second graft is not “essential” but is performed as an “optional” step. Because fat grafting varies depending on graft survival after the first procedure and the degree of hollowness based on each person’s skin condition, a second procedure is not automatically recommended as though it were a fixed rule.

Cases in which a second graft is recommended

• When some of the graft does not survive and the hollowness becomes noticeable again

• When the hollowness was deep from the beginning and the first procedure alone is not enough

• When, at the 3-month follow-up, you feel that “it would be better if a little more volume were added”

Cases in which it is not especially recommended

• When the first graft survival is good and the result is satisfactory

• When you want only a natural change and do not want excessive volume
