A. Ptosis correction performed with an incision usually shows relatively noticeable swelling in the early stage. For up to one week after surgery, the area around the eyes may look red and swollen, which can make daily life uncomfortable. However, after three weeks, the major swelling subsides and a more natural shape is gradually restored. In particular, patients in their 50s tend to recover more slowly in the skin and soft tissues than those in their 30s, so residual eyelid swelling may last a little longer. In general, swelling gradually decreases for up to two months, and after about four months, most of the results can be seen as stable. Upper-eyelid fat grafting may also be accompanied by a little bruising and swelling at first, but as the fat takes hold, it gradually settles into a soft, natural look. There may be differences depending on an individual’s skin thickness, fat absorption rate, and lifestyle, but overall, as time passes, the scars fade and the swelling stabilizes.

Middle-aged patients often say they are concerned that the area above the eyes looks sunken, making them look tired or older. Micro-fat was harvested from the thigh or abdomen and purified fat was injected to restore volume to the hollow upper eyelids. Therefore, for patients with ptosis, the combined procedure of fat grafting and incisional ptosis correction was especially effective.
