The hollowing of the upper eyelids is often more than just a matter of “the skin looking thin”; in many cases, it makes the eye area itself appear sunken and creates a tired impression.

The upper eyelid fat layer is thin, making the center of the eyelid look hollow
The volume of the front cheek has decreased, making the cheekbones look relatively prominent
The center of the face looks flat, with a slender but sunken contour

Upper eyelid fat grafting (1cc)
To account for differences in fat-layer depth, the fat is injected in separate layers to prevent unevenness
By assessing the strength of the eyelid-opening muscle (levator) and the position of the fat layer, the natural line is maintained without overcorrection

Front cheek fat grafting (1cc)
The boundary below the cheekbone is refined so that the front cheek volume naturally continues forward
Even with as little as 1cc, the fat is selectively injected only at points where a noticeable change in expression is possible
To improve fat graft survival, it is injected in multiple layers through a fine injection port

The hollowing of the upper eyelids has been reduced. In the before-and-after comparison, the first noticeable change is that the “sunken” look of the upper eyelids has softened, making the double eyelid line appear more natural and defined. The volume fills in evenly without looking puffy or uneven. The tired impression has been improved into a clearer, more refreshed look. As the upper eyelids fill out, the shadows themselves decrease, so the eye area can look sharper and brighter even without separate skin procedures. A small 1cc change in the front cheek has also added depth to the center of the face. Since the panoramic photo only shows the eye area, we cannot show the entire face, but as the front cheek is filled in, the feeling of the cheekbones being emphasized is reduced and the center of the face naturally comes forward. This completes a volume line that makes the face look much younger than before surgery. Overall harmony must be considered. The upper eyelids and front cheeks are areas that affect each other. By improving both together, it is possible not only to make the eyes look better, but also to avoid an imbalance where the rest of the face still looks hollow, creating a harmonious and natural sense of dimension.

Grace Plastic Surgery’s upper eyelid fat grafting technique goes beyond simply filling hollow areas; it focuses on accurately understanding the structure of the eye area and finely adjusting the required amount to create a natural line. The upper eyelid has a thin fat layer, and the muscles and skin are tightly intertwined, so even a small excess can make it look swollen or uneven. For that reason, the key is to inject the fat by dividing the anatomical depth into separate layers. Grace evaluates the strength of the levator muscle, eyelid thickness, and the position of the fat layer to restore the original line without overcorrection and to increase graft survival. Thanks to this technique, hollowing is reduced, the eye area becomes more defined, and the natural-looking change patients want is achieved more reliably.

In particular, due to the nature of the eye area, side effects such as swelling or bruising may occur, but in most cases they gradually improve during the recovery process, and natural improvement of the eye area can be expected.
