Eyelid ptosis surgery: In cases where a brow lift is suitable

It feels like only the other day that I heard the bells ringing on New Year’s Eve, but the end of the year is already approaching.
The faster time passes, the more it feels like skin aging progresses just as quickly,
which is unfortunate.
Skin aging can appear throughout the body,
but one area where aging may start first and progress quickly is the eyes.
As we can roughly estimate a person’s age by looking into their eyes when facing them,
the impression of looking youthful or looking older can change depending on anti-aging care around the eye area.

Signs of aging around the eyes vary, including wrinkles, skin sagging, and laxity.
Not only can simple wrinkles around the eyes be an issue, but when skin sagging begins, eyelid drooping can also appear at the same time,
making the person look older,
a sleepy impression,
and even a heavy or tired impression.
Typical surgeries for eyelid ptosis include forehead lift, upper blepharoplasty, and brow lift.
Because there are cases suited to each procedure,
an accurate diagnosis requires a consultation with a plastic surgery specialist.
If the distance between the eyes and eyebrows is wide and the eyelids are thick, making double eyelids unsuitable,
a brow lift can be recommended.

A brow lift is a method that improves sagging skin and wrinkles by making an incision along the lower brow line of the drooping eyelid caused by aging and pulling up the skin.
By making an incision along the boundary below the eyebrow without affecting the existing double-eyelid line,
the scar is not very noticeable,
and the result creates a more youthful effect,
so satisfaction with eyelid ptosis surgery is relatively high.
Since a brow lift is related to the eyes, at our clinic we can apply a plan only after closely checking the patient’s eye condition.
We carefully assess functional and balance-related aspects.
We measure the strength of the muscles used to open the eyes and identify various factors that affect the strength of those muscles when opening the eyes.
Even in cases where the patient does not have unequal eyes, different causes during surgery can lead to asymmetry,
so through thorough analysis, we apply a plan tailored to each individual.

In the case of a brow lift, if the eyelids have sagged but the patient does not want double-eyelid surgery,
if the eyelids are thick and double eyelids do not suit them,
if eyelid drooping is severe and makes it difficult to open the eyes,
if they want to improve eyelid drooping while maintaining their existing double eyelids,
if they want to improve an older and tired-looking impression,
or if they want to improve eyelid drooping with a relatively simpler method than a forehead lift,
please consider receiving detailed counseling about a brow lift.

At an anti-aging specialty clinic near Sinsa Station,
procedures are carried out systematically and safely by dedicated medical staff for each treatment category.
For a brow lift as well, with the rich experience, know-how, and extensive knowledge of a plastic surgery specialist with over 15 years of experience,
we aim to increase satisfaction with brow lift procedures through 1:1 customized design and planning rather than using the same plan for everyone.
Depending on the patient’s skin condition and degree of sagging,
a diagnosis such as forehead lift, upper blepharoplasty, or eyelid ptosis surgery, in addition to a brow lift,
may be made.
