One thing to be careful about with upper blepharoplasty is that even after the swelling has completely gone down, the impression can become harsher.

Although the degree varies, when the eyelids droop, the eyebrows are held up.

After upper blepharoplasty, the eyebrows that were being held up come down, making the distance between the eyebrows and the eyes closer and giving that area a fuller look.

Drooping Eyelids & Sagging Eyes - Sub-Brow Lift

A sub-brow lift is a surgery that improves drooping eyelids by removing skin below the eyebrow.

It is one of the procedures that many celebrities have recently said they underwent.

A sub-brow lift has a relatively short surgery time and a relatively short recovery period.

Because it does not significantly change the impression, it is chosen by people who are worried about a major change in their appearance.

Comedian Kim Jun-ho also revealed on an entertainment program that he had undergone a sub-brow lift.

Before surgery, his eyelids had sagged, making him look older and his eyes appeared somewhat heavy.

After the sub-brow lift, you can see that his impression improved, looking younger and brighter.

A sub-brow lift has a short recovery period and leaves minimal visible scarring.

Drooping Eyelids & Sagging Eyes - Forehead Lift

A forehead lift is also a procedure that you must know about in eyelid drooping surgery.

When a forehead lift is performed, the eyebrows are raised.

It is a procedure that should definitely be considered in cases where the distance between the eyebrows and the eyes is short / the area between the eyebrows and the eyes is full / the glabellar or bridge-of-the-nose wrinkles are severe.

The patient above was relatively young, and only a forehead lift was performed at our clinic.

You can see that the drooping eyelids improved and the fullness of the eyelids also improved.

The patient above was older, and when the eyelids sag this much, as in this case,

it may be difficult to achieve a satisfactory result with upper blepharoplasty alone.

In such cases, a forehead lift should be performed first.

For the patient above, we first planned to do a forehead lift and then decide whether to do upper blepharoplasty,

but in the end, only the forehead lift was performed.

With the forehead lift alone, you can see that the glabellar wrinkles and bridge-of-the-nose wrinkles improved,

and the sagging eyes improved significantly, creating a much brighter impression.

Among the three surgical methods—upper blepharoplasty, sub-brow lift, and forehead lift—it is not always the case that only one is performed.

In some cases, two or three procedures are combined to achieve satisfying results.

The most common method is combining a forehead lift and upper blepharoplasty.

In the patient above, a forehead lift and upper blepharoplasty were performed together.

When the eyelids sag a lot, it may be difficult to create a natural upper eyelid with upper blepharoplasty alone, as in the patient above.

If only upper blepharoplasty had been performed, the space between the eyes and eyebrows would have become even closer and fuller.

The patient above underwent a forehead lift together with buried double eyelid surgery.

As a patient in their 40s, aging around the eyes is already sufficiently advanced by the 40s.

By combining a forehead lift with buried double eyelid surgery, you can see that the image became brighter than when only buried double eyelid surgery was performed.

To summarize eyelid drooping surgery:

If the distance between the eyebrows and the eyes is wide, not full, and the eyelid drooping is not severe

= upper blepharoplasty / sub-brow lift

If the eyelid drooping is severe, or the distance between the eyebrows and the eyes is short and full
