I Participated in Writing the Dental Hygienist Textbook <Dental Implantology>~!

Today, we would like to share meaningful news about Yonsei Good Day Dental Clinic.

Dr. Park Jeong-cheol, head of the Periodontics department, directly participated in writing the textbook “Implantology for Dental Hygiene Students.”

A dental hygiene textbook is a course book that contains the theories and standards aspiring dental hygienists must learn before entering the clinical field. Participating in its writing means that expertise in implant treatment as a whole, along with rich clinical experience, has been recognized academically as well.

In this edition of 『Dental Implantology』, we emphasized that the success of implant treatment does not depend solely on the skill of the practitioner.

It specifically explains how important the role of the dental hygienist is throughout the entire process, including instrument preparation before the procedure, thorough sterilization and disinfection, regular checks and maintenance after the procedure, and communication and consultation with the patient.

This revision was also not just a matter of making partial edits to the existing content; it was a comprehensive update reflecting the implant treatment environment that has changed over the past 10 years.

Equipment photos that are no longer used in actual clinical practice were replaced with images of the latest equipment, and the content was reorganized to match changes in treatment systems, techniques, and equipment trends.

It also includes the increasingly common digital implant system, along with guidelines and regulations related to insurance-covered implants, so it contains practical content that can be used immediately in the field. We hope it will establish itself as an essential basic reference for aspiring dental hygienists.

Participating in the writing of this textbook was a particularly meaningful experience because, beyond simply sharing clinical know-how, it incorporated the standards and direction actually needed in the dental hygienist education curriculum.

The fact that clinical experience has been organized into systematic educational materials is itself a very meaningful step.
