Hello! Today, we’ll introduce the proper way to use dental floss, something you should know for healthy teeth and a bright smile.
Dental floss plays a very important role in removing stuck debris between teeth and maintaining dental health.
However, using it incorrectly can damage your teeth, so let’s learn the proper way to floss together!

Choosing Dental Floss
First, it is important to choose the right floss. Dental floss can be divided into four types: regular floss, waxed floss, sponge floss, and floss picks.
Choose floss with the proper thickness and shape according to the spaces between your teeth. If your gums or teeth are sensitive, it is better to choose floss made of a soft material, such as sponge floss.

Floss Length and Frequency
It is effective to use about 40 cm of floss at a time.
You should floss at least once a day. Be sure to clean thoroughly between the front teeth and back teeth, as well as the upper and lower teeth.

Proper Technique
Using the correct technique when flossing is important. After cutting the floss, wrap it around your index or middle fingers. After inserting the floss between your teeth, do not simply move it up and down. Instead, move it along the tooth surface and remove debris with a sweeping motion.

Time Spent Using Floss
It is good to spend at least 2 minutes flossing. Practicing tooth brushing and flossing together can more effectively protect the health of your teeth and gums.

Regular Dental Checkups
Even teeth and gums that have been cleaned well with floss still need regular dental checkups. It is important to check your dental health while receiving advice from a dental professional and to make sure there are no problems.
If you remember and practice the five points above well, you will be able to maintain healthy teeth and a bright smile for a long time.
Let’s make proper flossing a habit in our daily lives to protect healthy teeth and gums! Thank you.
