Today, following last time, we’ll continue answering your questions about prosthetic treatment. Let’s get started~

Q: What is root canal treatment, and when is it performed?
A: When infection or inflammation spreads to the tooth’s internal nerve tissue due to cavities or various other reasons, this treatment removes the inflamed or infected nerve tissue and fills the space with dental material so that other harmful substances or bacteria cannot live there. Strictly speaking, root canal treatment is a procedure that removes the nerve.
Root canal treatment is performed in the following cases.
-
When a cavity is severe and has spread to the tooth’s nerve tissue, causing inflammation and infection
-
When a tooth is fractured due to trauma and the nerve tissue is exposed
-
When, after getting a dental prosthesis (crown), the tooth becomes so sensitive that daily life is difficult
-
When, for no apparent reason, a tooth hurts and is so sensitive that normal daily life is difficult
-
When there is a fine crack in the tooth and the tooth’s nerve tissue has been damaged
-
When a lot of tooth structure must be removed in order to place a dental prosthesis

Q: What is porcelain treatment?
A: Porcelain treatment is a type of dental prosthetic treatment mainly performed when the front teeth have changed color, have been fractured, or otherwise need to be covered.
Because the front teeth are highly visible to others, gold or other metals, which are among the best dental materials, cannot be used. That is why porcelain prosthetic treatment came into use.
In a typical porcelain treatment, after the tooth is prepared, a prosthesis is placed with a metal interior and an exterior covered in porcelain (ceramic), which is similar in color to natural teeth and has a good shine.

Q: When is partial denture prosthetic treatment performed?
A: When many teeth have been lost and it is difficult to undergo bridge treatment, which involves preparing adjacent teeth and connecting them, partial denture treatment is usually performed.
In this way, we have looked at prosthetic treatment across Parts 1 and 2. Prosthetic treatment plays an important role in overcoming the inconvenience and loss of confidence caused by damaged teeth and restoring normal tooth function.
To find the best prosthetic treatment method for your situation, be sure to visit a nearby dental clinic and consult with the doctor.
