I ended up with double eyelid folds.

An ideal double eyelid has a single line, but sometimes two or more folds can form when you are tired or rub your eyes.

These are also called double eyelid folds or triple eyelids.

They may be temporary and return to normal, but if double eyelid folds continue to appear, they can be corrected through surgery.

What causes these multiple folds on the eyelid?

1. In revision surgery, the existing line and the newly created line coexist.

If you rely on your forehead due to ptosis, the existing double eyelid line may loosen or stretch, making it appear higher, and multiple folds may form below the line. In this case, ptosis correction surgery should be performed at the same time.

Surgery time and care

The surgery takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes for both sides combined,

and is performed under local anesthesia.

It is best to avoid overexertion and rest for the first 1–2 days after surgery.

After surgery, for about 2 weeks, you should avoid strong irritation such as rubbing your eyes hard, and avoid positions that lower your head and increase intraocular pressure.

It is better to allow about 6 months for the line to settle into a natural shape.
