Yeoksam Station Dentist,
If You’re Looking for a Place to Visit Comfortably After Work
Yeoksam Station Dentist
Hello.
I am Oh Tae-hoon, director of 디데이치과,
where our goal is to provide treatments with minimal pain.

“Doctor, I often work late.
What if I’m unable to come back midway through treatment?”
This is what I hear most often from office workers
who come in after work without even loosening their ties.
It wasn’t that they had failed to notice their toothache
and simply put off treatment.
Making time to visit a clinic in the first place
was itself a major decision.

As they postponed it for one month, then two,
the pain became increasingly noticeable,
while their only resolution was,
“I’ll definitely go this weekend.”
When they finally considered going,
they did not know how many visits would be needed
or how painful each visit might be,
which made it feel even more daunting.
If you read to the end,
today can be the last time you put off treatment
because “you don’t have enough time.”

- It’s Not That You Have No Time;
You Simply Can’t Bring Yourself to Go
The patterns among our office-worker patients are similar.
They ignore a slight sensitivity because they are busy,
endure throbbing pain with painkillers,
and only come in once they can no longer sleep.
By then, the tooth has often been sending warning signals
for quite some time.
The stage where it is only slightly sensitive to cold water
and the stage where it wakes you at night
require completely different levels of treatment.

The problem is that dental treatment
is similar to an installment plan.
Postponed treatment always accrues interest.
A case that could have ended with a simple cavity treatment
may require root canal treatment,
and I have seen many cases where a tooth
that could have been saved with root canal treatment
ultimately had to be extracted.
As treatment becomes more extensive,
the number of visits, the cost,
and the recovery period all increase.
You postponed treatment because you had no time,
but then you need even more time because you postponed it.
So, the question busy people are most curious about is:
is there a way to reduce the burden of visiting the clinic itself?
- There Are Ways to Reduce
the Number of Visits and the Pain
There is one principle I consider especially important
in my clinical practice.
For procedures that may cause pain,
I try to complete them all on the first day
so that patients can go home afterward.
Once you get through the difficult part of treatment on the first day,
you can visit from then on without being in pain.
A “dentist visit that hurts every time”
and a “dentist visit where you only have to endure it once”
feel completely different to busy office workers.

The same applies to anesthesia.
When the anesthetic is injected slowly,
the gums gradually adjust,
allowing anesthesia to take effect with almost no sensation.
When it is administered hurriedly because of time pressure,
it is that much more painful.
Whenever significant pain is expected,
I always let patients know in advance.
Expected pain and sudden pain
require completely different mental preparation
to endure.
Of course, this does not mean
that every treatment can be completed in one day.
However, by concentrating the painful parts toward the beginning,
you can picture the treatment schedule in your mind.
Knowing how many more visits will be needed
and what will happen during each one
can reduce the burden by half.

Our Promise to Patients Visiting After Work
Last week, I said this to a patient in their 30s
who often works late:
We’ll complete everything that may hurt today before you leave.
From next time, we’ll simply be checking and refining the treatment,
so you can come in comfortably.

I still remember how their tense expression relaxed
when they heard those words.

We also do not push ahead unreasonably
when creating a treatment plan.
We review the patient’s schedule and condition
and determine the order, starting with the treatments that are essential.
I personally handle everything from consultation through treatment,
so the explanation does not change from visit to visit
and the plan does not keep shifting.
Before treatment, I explain in advance
what procedure will be performed that day
and what it may feel like afterward.

Yeoksam Station Dentist
I learn every day in the treatment room
that busy people need treatment they can anticipate.
There is one thing I would like to tell you today.
What made you postpone treatment
was not laziness,
but the fear of pain you could not predict
and uncertainty about your schedule.
A routine where you stop by for treatment on your way home
and go to work the next day as usual.
It is my role to create a plan
that makes this possible.
Before the nights of getting by on painkillers
become even longer,
come and set down one of the burdens on your mind.
If you have any questions,
please feel free to contact us at any time.^^
