[Eton TV] Lower Eyelid Fat Repositioning! Solving the Things You’re Really Curious About, Not the Surgical Method!

From the perspective of someone who has personally undergone lower eyelid fat repositioning,

I’ll clearly answer the questions

you’re really curious about.

We held a spontaneous phone consultation 📞 about various questions regarding lower eyelid fat repositioning

for a male office worker in his mid-30s who had been worrying about under-eye fat since his teens.

If you have similar concerns,

I think today’s post

will be very helpful.

📞 I’ve had under-eye fat since I was young. Will surgery last a long time? Some people have prominent under-eye fat

from childhood.

In these cases,

it is usually because the facial bones themselves are recessed compared to the eyes.

If this structure is corrected with surgery,

it can really last for a very long time.

It is often maintained until age-related sagging of the skin occurs later on.

In many cases, it lasts more than 10 years.

📞 Is there anything special I need to do after surgery? Something like personally making an effort

to extend the maintenance period. In fact, there isn’t much special care needed.

However, it may not be good if your face becomes very swollen and repeatedly goes down,

or if you experience sudden weight changes.

Sleeping after eating ramen is the kind of habit

you should avoid, right? 😄

📞 Summer vs. winter, When is the better time to have surgery? Summer might seem a bit less favorable because of sweat. Sweat can make summer feel a little more uncomfortable,

but in fact it has little relation to the surgery itself.

Lower eyelid fat repositioning does not involve an external incision,

so there is almost no risk of the scar being exposed to ultraviolet light.

📞 I’m really afraid of pain. Is it done under sleep anesthesia? I’m worried it might hurt during surgery. How long does it take? At Eton Plastic Surgery,

we perform it under sleep anesthesia,

so there have been almost no cases where pain was a problem.

At the beginning, you may instead feel a slightly dull sensation. More of a numb feeling than pain.

The surgery usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

📞 Will there be severe bruising or swelling after surgery? I’m worried it would be hard to go about daily life if the bruising is severe. Bruising may or may not occur,

but lower eyelid fat repositioning is not the type of surgery that causes a lot of bruising.

You can return to daily life after about a day or two.

Swelling does occur,

but rather than the awkward and burdensome swelling you get after double eyelid surgery,

it feels more like the slight puffiness you get after sleeping after eating ramen,

so it shouldn’t be too burdensome.

📞 I had LASIK and my eyes are dry. Would it still be okay to have this surgery? Before the swelling has completely gone down after surgery,

your eyes may feel a little drier.

Because of the swelling,

the conjunctiva can become red and cause a dry sensation.

If you use artificial tears,

it probably won’t be very uncomfortable,

but

winter, when it is dry and windy,

may actually be a little less favorable.

📞 Lower eyelid fat repositioning: Is there a risk of blindness? Any surgery can have side effects,

but blindness is not a significantly occurring side effect

of lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery.

Unless the eyeball is intentionally pierced,

you can assume that vision loss would not ordinarily happen.

📞 When can I swim after surgery? I’m also curious whether it’s okay if the swim goggles press on the area around the eyes. I personally had the surgery

and tried swimming 😄

Usually, after about 4 weeks,

the tissue no longer moves even under the pressure of swim goggles, so it’s fine.

When I swam after a month,

there was absolutely no problem.

📞 Can busy office workers have surgery on the weekend and go to work on Monday? Absolutely.

Of course, it may be difficult to go to work on Monday

in 100% top condition,

but you can recover enough

to handle ordinary work.

If you use the weekend,

you can have the surgery without much burden.
