Recently, as GLP-1 obesity treatments such as Wegovy and Mounjaro have become widely used,

more people have been reporting that after losing a significant amount of weight in a short period,

their facial volume decreases and their skin sags.

Overseas, these changes are sometimes referred to as “​​Ozempic face,”

but rather than being a side effect of the medication itself,

this term refers to an outward change that occurs during rapid weight loss when the subcutaneous fat in the face decreases and the skin cannot sufficiently keep up with that change.
